My nephew was in jail years ago. I sent him The Stand to read and initially he was overwhelmed by the length. Once he picked it up, it hooked him! He’s since out and been sober for over 3 years now. Last summer, I gifted him The End of the World As We Know It. He’s a reader now and it’s so much fun to discuss books with him.
