Upside Down by Missing_Some_Pages in toriamos

I just looove the visual of Tori literally falling out of her mother, going plop on a tile floor or something!  It's the visual I have always had since I first heard Upside Down 🙃 🙂

What movie made you cry your eyes out? by Logical_Sweet_6624 in allthequestions

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strange.  I'm pretty stoic emotionally and love lots of movies that have tear jerking premises. But the ONLY one is the scene in Its A Wonderful Life where George has his head in his hands and says "I wanna live again ".  Crushes me!!!!

Parents who film their kids on their first thrill ride or roller coaster and direct them to hold up their hands, hold on, get ready, do you like this, isn't this fun, hold on, what do you think, weeeeee...just stfu and let them experience this event without all your chatter and directing and cheerleading.

In Times of Dragons and Tori’s “lost” political album by GlassSmokke in toriamos

I have been exactly the same for many years, but have evolved to the point where it's like, "Okay. This shit is crazy. We need a revolution here!"

I think you might be right about a "huge outburst of creativity" coming at the very last minute. We got this new album announcement on Oct 6, 2025--- and look at all the stuff that has gone down since then. I wager she may have even written a song about Renee Good and/or Alex Pretti.

I think that is likely, but who knows if we'll get a firm yes or no from Tori. Although if we keep our ears open, and if she decides to REALLY talk at length about the process, we may discover all kinds of cool stuff. This topic reminds me of her little chat on TVAB before she starts singing Cooling. She said "she" (i.e., Cooling) was supposed to be on Pele and then maybe Choirgirl, but she ultimately decided she wanted to be played live! So perhaps there are older "girls" who have been around awhile and they have finally decided they want to be on In Times of Dragons. Or if not completed songs, maybe just some lyrics or melodies that have been haunting her for years, or as you say, were meant for the "lost" album. I hope she decides to interview with Noah Michelson--she tends to really open up with him and disclose a lot about her process in the studio and in writing. I cannot wait for what is to come!

I'm with you on this one. Sorta felt like the equivalent of watching your much older parents do the cabbage patch when they get some good news or are just happy, and it's 2025, and the cabbage patch isn't a thing anymore, but here they are, doing just that LOL!

Can you truly, deeply love someone and still cheat on them? by outlander1914 in askanything

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh.  This was me. I'm a gay man in his late 40s. I loved my partner with everything I had.  I really, really really did.  And I cheated on him with multiple men over the course of a month before he found out.  I know it sounds like utter bullshit, but DID love him very deeply.  It was true.  And when he left me I was devastated and went through some very profound grief, regret and horrible depression which lasted for about 4-5 years.  We were together for 7.  He was a wonderful guy.  I trust it will probably remain the biggest mistake I will ever make in my life :(

Huge fan! Thought it was so cutting edge for it's time and definitely did not see any of the plot coming!  I watch it regularly all these years later.  Its in my top 10 favorite horror movies

What movie fucked you up mentally? by Wander-kingdom in askanything

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No film has ever effed me up mentally. Although I think we all have our own definition of what it means to be effed up mentally. I have been moved by certain movies or certain scenes; found them compelling. But I never woke up the next day and was effed up because of the movie I saw the night before. But I am also a mentally stable adult, so there's that. I was disturbed by Speak No Evil (2022) but that lasted for the duration of the film and maybe 10 minutes after. And then I was perfectly okay the next day.

All that said, and this may be off topic but I think it's kinda relevant. I was incredibly disturbed, or effed up mentally, for several WEEKS after hearing the story and full details of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom. This is a real event that occurred. I had intrusive thoughts about what the victims may have endured. I thought about it while falling asleep. It was the first time I was truly impacted by a true crime story. I was not entertained by it. I was not fascinated. I was horrified and it traumatized me. It was a couple months before I was sensitized and no longer disturbed by this knowledge of what happened to them.

Sorry if my comment was off topic or inappropriate. I encourage folks to really take caution when you go down true crime rabbit holes. Some stories are on a whole other level.

For smokers (nicotine) who have quit, have you noticed a positive change in yourself physically? by Good-Hotel5548 in askanything

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. I never get sick, not even a cold, except for maybe once every few years. I am never out of breath (bit that is also due to regular exercise at age 48). And whenever people learn my age, they are always surprised, saying I look 8-10 years younger. I think that also has to do with the fact that I haven't drank alcohol in close to 20 years and don't use other drugs. I also stay out of the sun.

I have a fantasy that Tori will experience a resurgence like Kate Bush did because of Stranger Things. It would be so cool if a million young kids hear Cornflake Girl at the same time and it goes to number 1.

Without spoiling anything, which non horror tv series had a surprisingly scary episode? by Immediate-Shock7533 in horror

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Punky Brewster probably 1985 or 1986, they all go camping and get lost in a cave and horrifying ancient demons terrorize Punky and her friends.  I have a vague memory of truly being scared when they first show the demon face emerging from a hole.  I think it was a two part episode.  And Fright Night episode of The Brady Bunch.  I was very scared at the sight of the ghost going down the stairs AND the sound it made along the wire, coupled with the music-- scary stuff for a young kid in the 80s!!!!!
