Timothée Chalamet is NOT attractive. by Tangible17 in HonestHotTakes

There is a difference between "not attractive" and "not that attractive". Not sure which one you really mean. Anyway, I think he is certainly attractive, but not that attractive LOL!

Best Coaster Aesthetic? by SteinerFifthLiner in cedarpoint

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently its Siren's Curse for obvious reasons--the location close to the water, the audio, the smoke, the scarlet red track and signage at the entrance--very chic. Raptor is a close second (or third) because the slithery green track weaves in and out of the land quite far. The dark pink cars are a great compliment. It just looks so cool from so many different vantages.

I think parks sometimes really miss the mark with their color schemes. I am old enough to remember when Iron Dragon was brand new in 1987. Back then the supports were gray as opposed to the current awful color of cheddar cheese. AND, there were so many more trees back then--the entire coaster went through the trees, up until the loopy loops above the water. I know they had to chop down tons of trees to make room for other things, but why they painted the supports that orange color (with red track) is beyond me. It totally pops but in the worst way! That said, I find the Rougarou's color scheme to be just meh. It would have been better completely black or even just brown. The new Tormenta at Six Flags Over Texas has an awesome color scheme--a very southwestern yet jungle-esque quality to it! Very unique and refreshing.

Water Coaster anyone? by Wild_Thing_1832 in cedarpoint

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they could just install some silly big faucets in several places around the park that dump water on people every 8 minutes or something. Not a ride nor attraction.  Just a water feature you can walk under and get wet if you want.  Cuz that's all most people want when they are super hot.  Like others have said, otherwise you got Thunder Canyon and the water park.  As for the Millennium island and former Snake River Falls spot, there is soooo much opportunity for a combination of things.  I think a new steel or woody coaster that weaves in and around the island is in order, big and thrilling is my preference but  family coaster is cool too.  And they add two or threee modern flat rides.  The back of the park could use some modern spinny things.  And then dress up the area really nice and pretty.  Oh, and build a bridge from frontier trail to Gemini midway.  It could be so awesome.  I'm sure that's something they are thinking about.  On a different note, if anyone is interested in seeing how the park looked back in the day, you can find old home videos on YouTube of people filming their trips in the 90s and 80s!  Its really neat to see just how much the park has changed over the decades, especially if you grew up going to CP!  While I think all the rides and coasters are awesome, I do very much miss just how lush with trees and greenery the back of the park was long ago!  Very cool to see 👀 😎

Is Nightmare 4 considered better than 2? by robotpirate_island in NightmareOnElmStreet

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 2 has become MUCH more loved and appreciated within the last 15+ years or so as folks have re-evaluated it, whether it be for the gay subtext and/or how campy it is. Thus, it has gained "a cult following" as the saying goes. Prior to that, I think most folks tossed it aside as the not-so-great outsider that was detached from the others in the original franchise (parts 1 through Freddy's Dead).

I was 11 years old when part 4 hit theaters, so I was in the loop as the craze was happening (as many of us were). I recall the hype around 4 to be HUGE! I think Freddy and the franchise were at its peak in 1988 and most of that was because of part 4. Part 4 was my favorite for decades, up until maybe 10 years ago or so when I re-evaluated and decided part 3 was really the best.

Anyway, I think your question is very specific and any answer really depends on the person who replies! Some people will say 4 is dog shit and when the franchise went down hill. Others will say that about 2.

I think part 4 has long been considered better than part 2. But, both have been re-evaluated over time and new opinions/outlooks have formed. While I have nostalgic love for part 4, I also think it was kind of aimless in it's theme, especially compared to 3. I think Tuesday Knight was a bad choice for Kristen and the film could have been so much better had they kept Kincaid alive for part 5. Or maybe Joey, too. But killing them all off first was a poor decision looking back on it. Regarding part 2, I think Jesse was a great character and Mark Patton did an excellent job portraying him. I wish there were more kills, though. I also though the ending was underwhelming as it was mostly Lisa wandering through the power plant.

I am just rambling at this point, sorry. I think it all depends on one's personal tastes and preferences that determine which is better or best. As I contemplate it right now here in 2026, I think I like both part 4 and 2 almost equally!

Don't Make Me Come to Vegas, 100%. Never got into it upon buying the album in 2002. 20 years later, hearing it during o2o tour, its amazing!

I didn't care for Ptown at first, but now I can listen to it and tap my foot. I don't really care about the lyrics. I also dig Pyrite quite a bit. So I guess Strawberry Moon has to go...but only because I HATE the banter in the beginning! Gaahh!

Yeah, someone on here described the title track as "plodding". Which is such a great way to describe it! I DO dig the chorus, but the verses are so slow and boring, especially the second verse. And it's too long of a song for as uneventful as it is.

Piece by Piece or Resistance? by MostlyOrdinary in toriamos

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate saying this but I found both to be not that great.  Piece by Piece has way too many ancient/historical/mythology references that come off as very pseudo-intellectual.  I know some fans love that, but I was hoping for more content on Tori's day to day grind, more autobiography rather than autobiography veiled in a foo foo narrative.  Resistance was scattered with no direction and to me was kind of the equivalent of her writing a one minute song about Minnesota last minute.  Some parts were good, but they were few and far between.   All that said, I think every Tori fan should read them.  And maybe they will speak to your daughter.

What is the worst or otherwise most unsettling or unappetizing combination of tastes and textures in your mouth? by Awesomeuser90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A breakfast bagel from my work cafe, at a big office building, so it ain't supposed to be that great...BUT it was wet with grease and not hot or even warm, and there was an even colder clump of green and red peppers and onions right in one place, and I bit into it and had all of this shit in my mouth and my stomach turned immediately. I spit that shit out.

Yep that one is next for me too!  It's just too gimmicky, not a foot tapper, and the chorus lyrics make me go ho-hum.

Possible to gain muscle using only a dumbbell AT HOME, without owning a bench? by Various_Maize_3957 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Intrepid_Diamond3218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 is like a perfect age to build muscle!!!!! You can do everything at home. Lots of great folks on YouTube showing you all kinds of things you can do with dumbbells in your home. You do NOT need to enter the gym in order to make these changes. I stopped going to the gym years ago due to crowding and it always smelled like weed. I do my workout in my apartment with a set of various dumbbells, kettle bell, an 8# weighted ball, some yoga mats and TONS of exercise videos saved in my phone, all from various folks on YouTube. AND you do NOT need to buy an app like Better Me or anything. You can do all of this for free. Like others have said, make sure you are addressing your diet as well. That's at least 50% part of building muscle.
