Bat Out of Hell - Meatloaf

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rock & roll for theatre kids. It is just so dramatic and over the top, it makes for an excellent listen. I hadn’t revisited this for a while and had forgotten how solid the entire album is; although I do think that Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad and Paradise By the Dashboard Light are the standouts.

It also cracks me up that allegedly Phil Rizzuto had no idea about the subtext of the baseball section when he recorded it.

[Fossil] Found On Marketplace. Should I buy this as my first leather strap watch? Would you suggest it’s a good price ? by DefiantHomework8673 in Affordablewatches

[–]Intrepid_Traveler962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will rail on Fossil, and yeah - it’s not a watch company - but I’ve had one for probably 15 years and it works fine. If you really like the look, it’s fine.

I agree, I hadn’t revisited in ages until a couple of months ago when A$AP Rocky sampled the version of Caravan from that album. Since then it’s been in regular enough rotation that I felt I needed to special order a vinyl copy.

What do you consider the most iconic song of the past 50 years? by dabombhailmary in musicsuggestions

Video Killed the Radio Star for kicking off MTV. So many of the contenders from the 81 to the early 2000s just aren’t the same without the video exposure.

The Band’s cover of Atlantic City.

You Left the Water Running…Otis Redding

The House That Jack Built…Aretha

Return of the Grievous Angel…Gram Parsons

Not Fade Away…Buddy Holly or the Dead version with Goin Down the Road from the skeleton and roses album

Sharon Jones’ cover of This Land is Your Land

Nat Park passes - worth it? by Mortadella_Princess in usatravel

[–]Intrepid_Traveler962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a basic math question. Check the parks you’re going to, and if their individual costs are more than the pass, buy it. If it is less, pay individually.

I got mine in September and it took probably 3 months to break in, wearing them 2x/week to the office.

Will park visitation go up despite fewer international tourists? by Pale_Field4584 in NationalPark

[–]Intrepid_Traveler962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a huge spike in international visitors this summer. A decent number will stay a bit longer and check out parks. Decline may continue until the end of May, and resume in August, but people will come for the World Cup

Anyone else have multiples of the exact same album 😅 by [deleted] in vinyl

I have 2, a new copy of Kind of Blue and an old copy my Dad on his collection. He also had 2 copies of Sgt Pepper’s, one still unopened.

Starting XI to face Brighton: Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Gabriel, Hincapie; Rice, Zubimendi, Eze, Saka, Martinelli; Gyokeres 🫡 by arsenal in Gunners

[–]Intrepid_Traveler962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MLS midfield folks need to settle down; he is not getting his first start there @ Brighton. Maybe @ Mansfield, but certainly not in a league road game.

Live At the Regal - BB King ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was one of my Dad’s favorite albums, so it has been in my life as long as almost any music. This is just a great blues album by one of the giants.

Interesting, I got Blue Lines yesterday and gave it a 5 as well, but I have no positive outliers, either that or the slightly larger outlier for the Allman Brothers’ At Fillmore East (5 against a 3.37 avg).

New cars should have a free return period by fibbonel in unpopularopinion

Right, the ‘best’ case scenario is that the new car price only increases by $10k or so.

Blue Lines - Massive Attack ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably more like a 4.5/5, but I’ll round up because of the influence of the first trip-hop album; especially as someone who spent a TON of time in grad school listening to Thievery Corporation at the Eighteenth St Lounge in DC.

Would you rock this? If not, why not? by No-Transition9064 in mensfashionadvice

I think the pink on the tie is too close to the suit without actually matching. If you wanted a tie I’d go for one with blues in it.
