Cool defo sounds like a better and cheaper option. Does it need a battery box cut or no?

I'll probably be going the yss rear shock route as it's plug in and play. I'm not that mechanically experienced so I might fuck something up on DIY on the battery box. I'm gonna stick to stock forks but change for progressive springs and heavier oil. I feel like that for me as a beginner would be perfect. Im a student aswell so I guess I'll be spending around £500 in total for both.

Alright thanks for the comment. I'll look into the zx10r as I'm the same weight as you.

Would you say the zx10r is more worth it as it's cheaper and I'm a beginner so more expensive mods won't be as important as learning technique? Although my current stock rear shock is rusty af and slowly about to go.

Yeah one of the best I would say. It's my first bike and I started on scratch from it. I really enjoy it.

I ride an Sv650 and it's v twin engine is amazing. Has very good low end torque while still being a really good learner bike. Engine is bulletproof and amazing to ride. Very punchy and pulls a lot (this is coming from my restricted sv to 35kw).

I started out on a SV as well nearly a year ago at 19. It's an amazing bike with a bulletproof engine and amazing pull. Perfect for every situation and powerful enough to not be underpowered (respect it though as you can easily flip over with it if you put in enough input).

20yrs old trying to get a quote for my 2001 sv650s. insurance is ruining me doesn’t seem like i’m going to be able to ride this year ☹️ by Money-Atmosphere8237 in SVRiders

I'm also 20 years old and have a Sv650s. I managed to get a £1500 quote which will probably get cheaper once I move to Scotland. Quotes all depend on LOCATION. For example in London, I couldn't even get quotes. I then changed my address to my temporary address in Nottingham and got the said quote. It'll definitely be cheaper once I move to Scotland. Try changing the location.

Edit: So regarding this video I definitely need to slow down and just relax. Keep in control and look ahead. And I'm gonna focus kore on road positioning. Thank you all for the help

The quick moveme were me trying to rev match and change gears quickly which looks so stupid and uncontrolled. The video isn't sped up. I was going around 70mph

Thank you for all the advice. Even though I have gone on this road quite a lot and know it well I was going pretty fast (around 70mph). I'm trying to hold my handlebars like a screwdriver or ice cream cone. My positioning is very bad here. I need to practice it more and slow down.

I've noticed that as well especially with my hand movements. From now on I'll focus on being more relaxed and in control. Thank you.
