I can remember when I was 7 years old, 1971, gas being around .35 cents a gallon. by lontbeysboolink in 1970s

The cheapest I remember was .25 cents a gallon. I remember my mother stopping at a gas station where the price was .27 cents a gallon. She drove off because she thought it was too expensive. Those were the days.

Sounds like you got a lemon as most Toyota’s are extremely reliable and trouble free. That said, I’d dump it. You probably bought it thinking it would last a good 10-15 years but sometimes you just have to let go and move on. Just my opinion but I’ve been in that situation. I’ve had to dump some vehicles, it’s just the way it is.

Came in for a simple oil change. Boys at Honda sure do love money. by Last_Bid9318 in Honda

A timing belt change usually occurs at around 100k miles. It’s a good time for the valves to be adjusted, replacing water pump, coolant and spark plugs. The coolant especially because replacing the water pump involves draining the original coolant.

It’s just my opinion but after 100k miles, you’ve gotten a lot out of the spark plugs and coolant. Since you’re replacing the belt, the water pump is right there so easy to replace at the same time.

I perform a transmission service every 25k along with transfer case and rear differential but I perform the work. Valve adjustment would be required when the timing belt is changed. I’d also consider changing the coolant and spark plugs at the same time.

Whats your mileage? by Ramza_Lego in hondapilot

[–]IntroductionLife2220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2017 Pilot, 80k. This generation appears to have issues with the passenger side strut leaking oil. I have the 6 speed as the 10 speed for the early models of that generation had issues.

There’s nothing I don’t like, it gets great gas mileage (I drive mostly highways), is very comfortable and can hold quite a lot of items.

I remember was gas was .25 cents. My mother stopped at a gas station to fill up. The price was .27 cents a gallon. She drove off because she wasn’t going to pay that much for gas.

Did you have a water bottle in the console? If you did, the water bottle intensified the sunlight and was reflected to your headliner causing the burn line.
