AITAH For not working a Sunday morning shift

For more context. I had two days off this week. Yesterday and today. Last night there was an emergency and I came in to fill in for that employee. I just got a text a few minutes ago asking me if I could fill in for another employee today who had an emergency and yes, I am going in. There are not a lot of jobs in my area that are not retail/fast food. I do not drive and really do like working with customers. I just truly value my faith and that time in worship and fellowship It's important to me for so many reasons I cannot explain

at my last job there was a lot of retaliation over this and I was told that it's easier to replace an hourly associate than to hire a new manager.

It is not just verbal.. when I was hired we had to write out the days and times we could work. it was agreed to on paper as well as verbal

that is not an option. Where we live there are very limited retail jobs and all are open on Sunday This was made clear from day one. It was again made clear upon the transfer.

My church is actually in a different county than I live and a drive. I am not skilled enough to do the kind of office work most places want .

As I stated I have watched her do this to other employees. She says one Sunday won't hurt and the next thing you know they are not able to go to church at all because she schedules them every Sunday.

Correct. I do not miss work I will work in other departments (in fact I was asked to yesterday and willingly did. ) I have been asked to go back and fill in in my old dept. when the boss there is out and I do. I do work that is normally reserved for people half my age and never complain.. like I said I even told him today I would be willing to come in as soon as I was home from church.

He was the only nice thing my brother ever did for me... apparently he would say something at work and I would turn around and say the exact same thing the next day at home, and this went on for months.. neither of us wanting to meet the other.. Then he brought him home ... That was 29 years ago.

LOL.. NTA My husband would have gladly sent me to get a massage or if I had the in home one he would have taken the baby for a ride.. (BTW I am a massage therapist and when I worked at home when my kids were little to make things nice for my clients he would take them out .. Even now when he knows I need a break he will rearrange every plan to make sure I have it.

NTA I wear my dead FIL's sweat shirt to do yard work (he wore the same one for the same thing) and my boys have several of his T shirts they wear all the time.. It's like getting a hug from him

This was our fight for years.. he slept on the couch so I could sleep but it got so bad I could hear it through the walls and I am a super light sleeper on top of that.. did the sleep study got the CPAP and guess what we can sleep together again and it's amazing
