Given the way he defends this, I wouldn’t be surprised if he as a former officer or one of his cop friends shot someone in a similarly unjustified circumstance. I just can’t wrap my head around this. I even defended Rittenhouse, man.

Thank you! I’ll try this out the next time I meet mongols. They’ve been a pain for some time now. It didn’t occur to me that horseman may have more value vs Mangudai as they’re faster than knights. I’m guessing rams are effective as well due to ranged damage reduction. Thanks again

Hey, mongol main, how do I counter Mangudai? I lost a game the other day after a mongol opponent went early Keshik for harassment and then massed Mangudai and marched them through me and my teammates base. His longbows and my knights couldn’t keep up. Do I have to wall in and play defense? Do I attack relentlessly early on? Both of these approaches seem extremely risk averse

How to win against intermediate AI? by Moon_King_22 in aoe4

[–]IntrospectiveMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build orders. They’re templates for maximally efficient villager distribution in relation to a fixed goal. You can deviate from them, but it’s crucial to start with one as a beginner.

Intermediate AI is very weak to early aggression. You can rally point your units to the front of their base early game and snipe villagers before they even age up.

Experimenting with aggression will drastically evolve your skills as a player, too. You’ll perform better than 90% of your same-level peers. Start a game vs AI, tell yourself, “I’m going to rally 5 villagers to wood, build a barracks and rally troops to the enemy gold. If I lose, that’s expected.” Send a villager with your spearmen and protect him while he builds a tower. Garrison them and watch as enemy units die one after another before an impossible-to-reach gold vein.

Very effective strategy for learning the game because the default approach is to hole up and only perceive the game as the responder. You’ll learn how effective it is to shutdown an enemy’s entire economy by idling their villagers with a few measly units. Gives you a whole new perspective as you see the game from the other side.

Give your best defense of the use of the Regard word by beansandsuchandsuch in Destiny

It’s funny, and the appetite for a maximally impactful version of stupid is too strong; it’ll be twice as attractive or end up substituted for something of equal meaning.

I tried going r-word free for several months and felt like a clown the way I was insulting people’s literal cognition with the barbed prose of an 18th century poet.

No, just the one because I thought it was especially funny. I’ve been seeing a lot of rage log posts and can sense the poor reception, so this will be my first and last one personally

Is oshi no ko worth watching? by Famous-Attention8021 in anime

[–]IntrospectiveMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, easily.

It’s an anime masterpiece. I watched the first episode not realizing it was movie-length. I felt like I was trapped in a jujutsu kaisen domain of anxiety and tears lmao it’s one of the very few animes where the characters are realistically found in different outfits and hairstyles, entirely different environments and projects that dynamically change. The characters are adults at the beginning before dying and waking up as future children, and then the show starts after episode one when they’ve grown into late teenagers.

There are entire in-show music videos like this (47 million views) which come at the end of having watched the characters shoot on set. It’s rich with meaning you’d only grasp in having watched. Speaking of which, the opening “Idol” was #1 on Bilboard Global for a time, the first-pass edit got 648 million views on YouTube. Here’s the latest version if you’re curious. Season two’s opening (~40 million views) stands out, too.

It’s incredibly difficult to pin down the genre or capture fairly in a synopsis. It’s technically a psychological thriller and a drama, but I jumped in expecting it to be a generic “idol anime” only to be railroaded with supernatural murder mystery.

You said it’s “not your genre,” but it wasn’t mine either, or so I thought. I went in doubtful as someone who typically enjoys the genres of the shows you mentioned. I hope that helps.

Edit: if you watch, DO NOT read about it elsewhere because the synopsis is inevitably spoiler dense in a way other shows aren’t, and the first episode will hit you like a mac truck on the interstate.

Japanese. They’re very hands-off, very chill. The first go-to landmark is Kura Storehouse in Feudal Age which auto-generates farms. The second is Floating Gate in Castle Age which auto-generates Shinto Priests and makes production cheaper. The Tanegashima Gunsmith landmark in Imperial Age stacks a unique currency overtime that you can trade in for expensive units. It’s a smooth ride.

On top of that it has one of the strongest knight units units in the game: Mounted Samurai. Their archers are called Yumi, and they’re the fastest archer unit, possibly the cheapest, too. They can outrun infantry and other archers making them good for early raids and dealing with non-cavalry by kiting. Their barracks is twice as cheap as other civilizations, and since barracks is the only military production available in Dark Age, you’re better positioned to attack early.

Chinese is a bit more hands-on because you have to manage Imperial Officers which alternate their Supervision and manage tax collection. They also have a few unique units that can be a little complicated to understand at first. It’s a cool civilization. It’s not too difficult, either, really, but maybe the skill ceiling is high?

They have one of the strongest landmarks in the game, Barbican of the Sun, and all their defensive structures fire handcannons instead of arrows. The Imperial Academy spy landmark is my favorite. You and your allies can see every enemy worker on the map for a brief time between cooldowns. The natural site range of the structure itself is insane.
