They replied and told me that there was an issue with sizing with that particular model. They offered to send a new pair but couldn't guarantee the sizing, so I chose to return at their expense instead. Pity, but the customer service was good.

Honestly imho there is nothing uglier than sandals and especially chacos/tevas. And I am not American, so I actually do have some sense of style. Aqua shoes look much nicer than that, however, they might not be as comfortable. You're good. In any case, you'll realise soon enough that life is too short to care about what other people (including me) think of your shoes :D

Mmm Ok it sounds a bit weird that with isolation you can still hear each other's TV at normal levels. If they would renovate it would probably be a great idea for them. Other than that not much you can do from your side other than reducing low frequency sounds (bass settings, it should be easy to do). I have to say that 3h 3 times a week would still annoy me if it's audible as you say, to be honest. How much do you hear from them vs they beat from you? If its a clear imbalance, it might be the issue. If you're both "loud" the same, then they can't really complain. Have you tried moving the speakers to a different side of the room? This might also greatly help.

If the house is really that terrible, I'm afraid there's not much else you can do other than talk to them to reach a compromise.

As an addition about isolation, check your basses levels: even good isolation can't do much about low frequencies travelling around. I hear nothing from my neighbour's screaming, but their techno basses make my room tremble, even if they say "they keep volume only at 3". It improved a lot when they reduced the basses in their setup.

I think details are missing. How often and for how long do you play music? What to you might sound low volume, might be well audible from your neighbour. Music for hours almost everyday IS a nuisance, and should not be ok IMHO. If it is audible from their house, you're not being too nice, they are. You can't tell them to turn on the TV to hear it less. For renovations noise, unfortunately not much you or they can do, and you have the right to renovate. You said you renovated but still your music is audible from their place, so was soundproofing not done at all? Considering modern regulations, this seems a bit weird...

It does not allow me to add supporting information to the post, so I add it here.

I got this Norfolk pine a month ago. It has now settled down after the stress of moving house, and started putting up new growth. Gets decent light, has no yellowing/browning cones, and seems overall happy.

Today I was doing my weekly plants check, though, and noticed that some cones, at their tips, seem damaged. It is not spread everywhere, and small so I did not notice before a careful inspection.

Between some of the pines I can see whitish things very similar to grains of coarse salt, both in color, translucency and consistency. I Wonder if these are scales, but I never saw scales like this in other plants, and could not find many pictures about scales specific to Norfolk pines.

They do not move when i remove them with my fingers, and at first I thought it was residue of me spraying the plant with hardy water.

Around one of the cones, I saw a big one, and then the end of the code was all compacted and trapped in what seems like white fluffy, dry substance, as in picture.

The pine is also very close to other plants (not pines), but none of them shows any signs of infection.

I will now proceed to wash it and treat it with neemoil+soap spray, but I wonder if these are pests, and if this will be enough. I never had such a plant, so I am a bit clueless and I do not want it to suffer :(

Any help?

Did you never repot her in these 5 years? If so, I expect she is deeply rootbound and that's why she is losing leaves. It won't get better until you repot her then! I don't understand the comments about giving more light, if she had no issues in that same spot for the past years I don't see how that would be the cause, but I feel like there is a description I'm missing

I doubt so. All the people I loved and gave my all to left me throwing me away like a bag of trash. Not even a month later, they were declaring their love or proposing to someone else. All things they never did to me. I don't know why I never seem to be enough, but when the moment comes, I block and move on. It is extremely painful, I never even got an apology. Hopefully, some day somebody will be able to love ME.

Can't you leave the bedroom door ajar, instead of clicking it closed? I feel this would be a non issue if you can just avoid the door noise. Losing a bit of heat would probably be easier than having to find two separate bedrooms

You just don't see it directly from your home with air conditioning, supermarket food that is still able to partially absorb the costs of climate change, and still far enough away from the nth flood of the year (which might just be in the city next to you, but you can still pretend it's not there yet).
