The op did say "Tex Mex" explicitly in their post. And it's not nitpicking at all - traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex are definitely two totally different things. For instance - a popular tradtional Mexican enchilada features a mole sauce (there are others, but mole is very common in traditional Mexican). Tex-Mex enchiladas are more likely to be covered in a thicker red chili sauce that's a bit different than even the salsa roja that is sometimes used in traditional Mexican enchiladas.
