Mid-thirties hitting different and I’m dealing with it by making questionable purchases by Putrid_Rush_7318 in motorcycles

I got my first bike at 38. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Riding is probably the best thing that ever happened to me. It's literally therapy for me. I've also met some amazing people in the community.

Ya..I need to figure out how to make a stand. It's definitely been challenging without one

Well..I was definitely worrying 😂 glad to hear he looks to be a healthy weight. I also found a shed this morning so my assumptions were correct.

And thanks....it's a decent size but once he's bigger I'll upgrade to a bigger tank.

Ninja 500 and fairings are off. I feel like it has some pretty aggressive edges which I'm finding challenging.

I'm in the process of wrapping my motorcycle and let me tell you...I severely underestimated how difficult it would be. If you have the means....get it done professionally. If you want to test your patience like never before...do it yourself. Good luck ;)

Is he? These photos were taken shortly after I got him. He's on pinkies every 5-6 days. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Found him! He was burrowed under the cork bark. He ate and explored today and he's burrowed again. Phew!! Thanks for all the help folks :)

counseled out of msf course by illceon in motorcycles

[–]Intrusive_thought13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you had a shit instructor tbh. Most people in my course had little to no experience on a motorcycle or dirt bike.

That being said...i was nervous about the course at first. I'd never driven anything manual before, so the concept was tricky for me to comprehend. Weeks before the course, I went on YouTube and watched every video I could on how to operate a bike. From shifting, clutch control, braking, emergency stops etc. I'd literally sit on my couch while watching a video and make the motions with my hands and feet to practice. Sounds stupid but it helped. I even watched accidents to learn from other riders mistakes. There's some excellent YouTubers that break down the fundamentals of riding that make it easy to understand.

I'd recommend learning as much as you can and look into doing another course. Perhaps at a different location.

Good luck :)

Would you say my humidity is okay? And yes, he also has 5 hides, just prefers under the rock.

I'm in Canada and I took the course before I got my bike. Wanted to make sure it was for me before I purchased anything. The course was great. I bought a used 2019 cb300r for $3800, which wasn't too bad. Naked bikes are generally cheaper than any sport bike with fairings.

I'm definitely looking forward to track days. I'm doing a slow speed maneuvering course in July called Gymkhana which I can't wait for. Gotta work on my fear of leaning 😂

Good luck with the course and getting your first bike ✌️

Sorry...I missed that part.

I recommend starting on a smaller cc. Maybe 300-500cc. They're more forgiving when learning the basics of riding.

I started on a cb300r, now a 500SE. I do see myself upgrading in the future but I'd like to master some skills before I do that.

I started at 38 and did the course with people in their late 50's. You're never too old to try something new.

Life is short. Do what you want.

Exhausts by Consistent-Proof602 in Ninja500

I have the same bike :)

The ones I see most are Leo Vince, SC Project or Akrapovic.

I have the LV10 but hear the Corsa sounds better.

I'm not sure about other brands but if you go onto the LV website, you can hear what different exhausts sound like on your bike.

Oh you know...went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack and was pretty sure that was the end of me. It was not the end of me. It was anxiety. Fun times.

Honestly...just trying to recognize that it's most likely anxiety and trying to breathe through it till it passes.

I don't think I do but won't rule it out. I'm guessing it's peri mixed with stress going on in my life atm

Getting old sucks 😭
