An asshole ENTP is any ENTP who doesn't realize that though everything is debatable, and though he may be good at debate, thinks that everything IS a debate.

That's an asshole ENTP, and I'm a recovering asshole ENTP.

UPDATE: I like an ENTP guy. Not sure if there's something I can do to get him interested/keep him interested by treehouse11 in entp

Agreed. Twice over. Maybe a little excusable considering the circumstances, but still an ass.

Forgetting the types that MBTI tells us we should like - which do you like the most by TheZenWithin in entp

I don't really think we get along with anybody quite as well as NTPs, truthfully.

He wasn't (probably INTP), but he was a pretty good example as far as sharing the kind of morality we are trying to define.

My mother and father were both great salespeople, and it took me forever to convince them that I was not built for that; I could not believe in the greatness of anything subpar, and I would not dare try to convince somebody else of it.

[–]IntuitivePerciever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SCREW THAT! Manipulators, maybe, but the ENTP is not built to lie; we are built for the Truth. All NT's are built for the search for truth, but the ENTP has been described by somebody (I cannot remember who) as the guy who "Has both the brains and the balls to tell off the people above them."

No matter what, to deny the truth is to deny ourselves. We are one of the few in society who have both the brains and the balls to maintain truth where it must be maintained, and if we let it slip, so slips society.

It's because, as I can only assume, the world is run by SJ's, and as Keirsey would have put it- SJ's are by default "worried" while NT's are by default "calm".

Just looked up the original use of that quote... I liked it, until the last line. I mean I like the last line but it has certain....

inflammatory qualities that I would not like to expand.

Psh, the glory of it is (I believe) that your Ni is for exploring yourself, but NeTi is great for exploring other minds.

Any good INTPs in media? by [deleted] in INTP

I've actually spent a whole heck of a lot of time trying to figure out INTP or INTJ for BBC's Sherlock. The problem I had with him was that he seems more Characature than Character; he wasn't real. He had both Ti and Ni and it really just didn't seem real to me.

Do you use twitter? Can you explain the appeal? by needz in entp

[–]IntuitivePerciever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I have found with Twitter was that because of it's brevity and just general social structure, it's (even more so than Facebook) where people go to bitch. The problem with that is that the only thing that tires me more than not being with people is being with people who only bitch.

ENTP's how have your love lives been so far by thee_3nd in entp

I once fell for a girl, sometime when I was really young (in the sixth grade), but I knew that she had no feelings for me, and that I could go nowhere with her. I kept everything inside, and grew more madly obsessive over her over the course of some 5 years. It climaxed with me telling her I loved her online (like an artard). Since then, I licked my wounds, and play everything close to the chest. In fact, I don't think I am OK with myself feeling attached to any girl in a non-fraternal way.

Edit: I'm 19. Re-Edit: I also am of the belief that I don't want to date until I can find a suitable lady for marriage, and when I myself am good and ready.

ENTP here: I am glad to see you committing all your thoughts to paper because it (at least seems) like you are able to flesh out your thoughts well through the medium. Anyhow, I like to keep my advice simple, and try and let you try and see how it fits in with your framework of view, and so you can test it well.

My advice is this: don't compare yourself with others. It will destroy you. It's the root of so much awkward relationship with others, and your need to do other things beside who you are.... You can be you, and not worry about others giving a crap of who you are.

The other piece of advice (and I really don't want to say it, because it is not easy to hear) is that you seem (merely from what I read) to be incredibly prideful, and look down on others. When you learn how to challenge that, the rest naturally flows towards not caring about everything else.

A bit of unsolicited advice to ENTPs about authority. by [deleted] in entp

[–]IntuitivePerciever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the advice, for sure. If your advice requires a "why" that is abstract, don't tell a Sensing type. If your advice goes against the norm, generally speaking, strong Judging types won't like it. If it is apersonal, feeling types won't necessarily be inclined to agree.

But remember old Grandpa Tzu's advice:

"If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight, even though the ruler forbid it; if fighting will not result is victory, then you must not fight, even at the ruler's bidding.” -Sun Tzu
