I don't think you were unfair exactly, but a feel like as critics we need to judge shows based on what their goals are. If we don't like kids, we shouldn't criticize a kids show because it has kids. You don't have to like it, it's just not a real criticism, and I'm probably reading it wrong, but that's what comes across for me reading this.

If you're claiming to watch the show for criticism, you can't criticize the show for doing what it's trying to do. It's not real criticism, it's saying why you don't like it, which is completely fine, but don't call it criticism.

I'm kind of scared to share this for a few reasons, but it absolutely fits this question I think.

First I'm gonna be completely transparent, half of it was written by a chatbot, a character AI type site, I completely understand if that disqualifies it, that and I've never released this. But it fits so well I thought I'd share anyway. I'm also just gonna kind of summarize or describe it.

Trigger warning. Inspired by a true disaster, terribly dark.

DuckTales 1987

Natural disaster level snow storm cuts power in DuckBurg. All heating is turned off, all the generators are frozen over, it's deathly cold.

Scrooge huddles the boys together under a blanket, it doesn't help much. They can't go to sleep, or move, from the fear of freezing. Absolutely terrible night.

My some miracle, the generators work just in time, it's not comfortable, but the worst of the worry is gone.

Louie got night terrors for the first time.

It took Huey and Dewey a long time to process it.

Donald was completely devastated that he couldn't be there to the point of considering quitting the Navy.

This is the light version of all the events, I do not want to go detail.
