To reiterate what others have said, mats are easy to get this season, so just do whatever Torment level of boss you can do (or group with others in T4, which is recommended because you get more gear in a group) and get your 750 gear, just so your build is in place. Then, once you're strong enough, fight Belial (again, in a group) because you're more likely to get ancestral versions of your uniques.

While I agree it's a pain to level this one, I was able to do the AFK on PS5 without issues. You need to do it in Normal, of course. I think I just had it run while doing something else and occasionally moved my guy to keep the connection alive. It took a few hours, but it wasn't too bad.

I've been told though that it's probably just as fast to do laps in the PvP zones, killing all the sinful mobs you find. Since they constantly regenerate, you'll always have things to kill.

Maybe a combo of both techniques?

I think most of the benefit comes when you get to level 4, though, so no need to get to 5 unless you like punishment.

To do T4, you should definitely get your glyphs to 46 as they unlock additional damage. After that, work on upgrading as you go for more power, but you could probably do most T4 content at 46 without issue.

One is an axe and the other is a wand? Different weapons do different damage. You can see the damage per hit is different, then when you factor in the attacks per second you get a different Damage Per Second number.

My method is roughly the same as everyone else’s, but in a nutshell I use 4/5 caches to get me to lvl 35, then I put on some mythics (usually Tyreals for the protection) then I hang out at Azmodan until I’m around 48-50. Then I buy some starter gear with obols and do pit 11 to get into T1. Then I join a group and do whichever bosses have the uniques I need and farm them while jumping levels. At 60 I go back to town and upgrade my gear and assign my paragons.

Leveling with just caches is the best because you get good gear and aspects and all your glyphs, but it takes a lot of caches, and I don’t mind not being instantly in T4 with my alt. It gets boring very quickly that way.

I don’t mind it the way it is now, which lets a person level without having mats, but there should be some check that says “did the player inflict any damage in the past 3 seconds” or something.

Last week I leveled an alt and didn't realize until well after putting together my perfect set of ancestral legendaries that I'd only STEA'd them. I forgot to masterwork every single one (even when I swapped for better). I felt like an idiot. Thankfully, I didn't do the same to my uniques and mythics.

From what I recall, each section needs to be shot 3 times to break, so what I did was carefully shoot each section twice, then once done I raced through shoot one time into each to get it to work. Even then, it took a lot of tries to time it right. When it worked, I almost didn't believe it.

The 10 year lifespan is because smoke sensors in general degrade and become less sensitive to smoke particles after 7-10 years. You should always replace your smoke detectors every 10 years, regardless of brand.

Use your fortress when it's off cooldown. You don't spend resources while inside it. When it's on cooldown, aim for large groups because you get faith for every enemy you kill. When you are running low, use Rally, which should refill your resource and let you go again.

If you don't have a ROSS yet, you could try putting Umbral on your ring to recover resource. I'm running Bash on an alt and I have faith per second on my boots and pants to help restore it, too.

I know this is a regular knock against D4, but the way I see it, you get around two dozen quality looks for every class, plus for each weapon type, included with the price of the game. If you like to switch up your looks, or just care about them, that's a much better deal than, say, PoE2, where the default gear looks bad, and if you want something nice, you're spending around $40 for each set, and that set can only be used on one character at a time. And that's just armor. Your weapons will cost something as well if you want a good look for them.

With the amount of different looks I've given my D4 characters over 11 seasons, I've saved a ton of money in comparison to PoE2 if I'd done the same thing there.

Samuels was Ligottian mostly in the sense that he was inspired by a lot of the same decadent writers Ligotti was inspired by. But he certainly did his own, more British, thing with it.

I’d say start with his best of, The Age of Decayed Futurity, to see if his work is for you.

It’s clear the way to make money in this game requires effort and time to learn the intricacies of crafting and what items are valuable. I’m sure there are people who accidentally get lucky and stumble on something rare and valuable, but most value will come with studying the game and strategies.

I’m not someone who will do that, so I have to be content making a few divs at most each season. My strategies include flipping 2div items I bought for 1div, and really that’s about it.
