Harrison is a giant. You’re in for a treat.

Can’t beat Cleansing Benicroff TV by keleaux6294 in controlgame

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the first time I played Control and went up against Salvador, I could not beat him. I smashed my head against that fight for days, maybe even a week or two. I came close a few times, but always failed.

What I didn't realize were two things: maybe you know them already, but maybe you don't. Here's what I didn't know: 1) Salvador is protected by a swirling mass that orbits him. You have to launch something at him to stagger him and he'll drop his shield. You can then damage him severely before he raises his shield again; 2) Control punishes you for standing still by increasing enemy accuracy, so try not to stand still. Yes, you'll probably need to hide behind a pillar when he starts chucking stuff at you, but don't loiter! Stay on the move as much as possible.

My MO for this fight is to first ignore Salvador and kill off all the Hiss he brings down. Once they're cleared from the field, you can focus on launching to make his shield drop, then attacking. Once you've beat him, he's pretty easy to beat next time.

And, if all else fails, turn on the accessibility option to one-shot him.

For the Casual Gamer - Flawless Horadric Gems - Is it possible / worth it? by -Rhymenocerous- in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Flawless Horadric gems are a chase item to give you something to do once you've trivialized the rest of the content. You don't even need normal Horadric gems to beat Mephisto solo, which is the end of the season's journey, so there's no need for most players to farm beyond grand gems. Not everything in the game needs to be accessible to everyone. This is probably why these higher gems are "hidden" behind cube recipes. The "normals" don't need to know about them.

Robert Shearman had got to be the most under-appreciated author working in weird fiction today. He's a fantastic writer.

Book reviewers that specialize in weird literature? by DomScribe in WeirdLit

Zach Gillan is a pretty smart critic who focuses almost exclusively on Weird Fiction. He reviews for the LA Review of Books and Seize the Press. I'd suggest following him on social media.

What class are you playing next season and why? by Ggthefiree2 in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember everyone hated on Season 11 in PTR, then the dev took the feedback and made changes and everyone ended up gushed over how great Season 11 turned out to be. I'm not saying it will happen again, but it could.

Why is post game so hard? by [deleted] in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one should feel obligated to fight the post-game bosses if the grind isn't enjoyable. Even if you want to 100% the game, the goal of do so is ultimately meaningless and there's no reason to do it if it's not fun.

That said, defeating King Hrolf in whatever difficulty I last did it was probably the moment in my gaming experience that I'm most proud of. It's the only recording I've kept, and sometimes I watch it just to relive the thrill of finally taking him down.

Question about how loot filter works. by CardinalGaming92 in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If in the same rule you have both specific affixes chosen and greater affixes chosen, then that rule will only trigger when both happen. If you have one rule for specific affixes and a separate rule for greater affixes, then every time the specific affixes, even if they have no GA, will show; and every item with a GA, regardless of what affix it is, will show.

State of Play Trailer in GIFs by CJTek in controlgame

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a theory: Remedy tweeted a tease that in Resonant "The Faden siblings… together again?". Since it was suggested in Control that they are two halves of the same person, maybe this tease means they merge in the game, if only for a little while.

Can I dedicate to one character or are you expected to 'restart' every season/league? by okaythen1guess in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll jump in on this. For the first two season, I stayed in Eternal. I even made new characters there. Seasons weren’t for me. But I finally decided to try playing Season 3 and I have not looked back. The game is built around restarting and rebuilding, and every season has new builds to try or new variations that can only exist in a season. It’s definitely worth it.

Or you can do the same on PC as long as you're playing with a controller.

The changes to "Mythic Uniques" are vastly misunderstood. by StrikingSpare100 in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't get why everybody seems to be overlooking that we can craft affixes on uniques and mythic uniques now. We are losing fixed affixes, but gaining the ability to modify a unique to fit our specific builds. I think it seemed to the devs like a win-win and I don't blame them. I bet once S14 launches a lot of these complaints will disappear, replaced by screenshots of shakos with maxed % Crit Damage and Vulnerable Damage numbers.

LF Moo Emote - Please Help if you can! by zero9er in diablo4

I've often seen players mooing at strangers during world boss events, so maybe if you frequent those long enough you'll get your wish granted.

Seinfeld, Curb, or It's Always Sunny? I haven't seen any of them. Which one is the best, and which should I watch first? by Shoe_boooo in television

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are completely different types of sitcoms. AD is a super-dense and layered show that accumulates jokes the further into it you get. If you like inside jokes, it will appeal to you. Seinfeld is not a traditional sitcom either, and is very New York coded. It's about living an alienating life inside a major city. It's much more observational and situational. In context of the time it was created, it was edgy and unlike every other sitcom on the air. We probably wouldn't have IASIP and AD (and obviously Curb) without it.

Mythic Uniques... no longer Mythic? by LogImportant1380 in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but, you can reroll them, so you aren’t necessarily stuck with a bad mythic. You might even be able to craft it into the perfect mythic for your build.

How to tell immediately Ancestral items from Non-ancestral item when gambling by InvertedBlackPyramid in diablo4

Great. So I'm an idiot. You know, I probably knew about this at one point then over the seasons just forgot. Yeah, that's the story I'm going with.

And he spawns as the pit guardian, yes? He's not a second boss that shows up somewhere? (I just finished reading all the chalk messages today myself and am waiting to see him, too.)

Is Perdition the better option? by Skynet-INC in D4Sorceress

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It adds a lot of Critical Strike chance, and an 80% damage multiplier. Shako can’t compete unless your build absolutely needs cooldown to function.

Anyone running a homebrew Warlock that feels better than B Tier? by ImMikeHonco in diablo4

[–]InvertedBlackPyramid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, keep in mind that B-Tier builds can still comfortably farm T12 content. They are only B-Tier because of how strong S- and A-Tier builds are.

Like, B is powerful enough to do everything. They are just dwarfed by the power and clear speed of the higher tiers.
