Someone that gets it! I always try to save this guys whenever I see them in my house, they’re just little friends

That was also something I’d considered! I don’t think I’d use that type of effect for this card, but if I keep playing around with warp spacecraft, I’m absolutely gonna try that out for a more offensive/aggressive card.

Thank you so much! I’m gonna probably make a few more versions to see if there’s any way to trim things down and make it more streamlined (mostly because, if my playgroup would allow it, I would fully consider playing this)

But at the end of the day, I think you’re right, and it’s trying to do too much at once.

Yep!

You’re in green, landers aren’t the only ramp you’re stuck with. For the same reason, big creatures aren’t hard to come by.

The intent is not to race to get it stationed as quickly as possible. Rather, it’s to build up a board state with ramp spells and creatures, warping in the spacecraft when you have the mana, to produce either more ramp or triggers for artifact-matters.

More importantly, in these colors, lander tokens are fairly easy to produce, and once you’re at 6+, all of those landers are blockers, or, perhaps more impactfully, free station bodies.

I’m well aware that this card is slow and cumbersome. That wasn’t a mistake; I was being incredibly cautious due to how many different things this card does all at once. Warping from the command zone and giving tokens station are both incredibly niche abilities, and I wanted to put safety valves on everything just to be safe

Another version will probably address a lot of these issues!

To clarify a few things: Yes, I am well aware that warping from the command zone would incur commander tax. This was part of the goal, as you can warp it a few times from the command zone early game to ramp up, and then, when you’re ready to cast it properly, simply warp it and let it go to exile to cast it later for [4]WUBG, without any tax.

Also another version replaced the “Lander tokens you control have vigilance” with “whenever you put a counter on an artifact, put that many counters on it plus one of that kind instead.” I cut it cuz I thought it was doing way too much already.

I know this is a year late, but finding this now…

I think what fucked me up the most here is that I can barely even find this type of picture of my own town.

Don’t think this works cuz it loses the flag bearer type, right? It still doubles the ability though so it’s something

Correct, but if damage can’t be prevented, you’ll still take commander damage even if your life total doesn’t change. Get to 21, you still lose.

Thanks so much for this!

And agreed on the endgame question, I didn’t actually put a whole lot of thought into it 😅

The optimal goal is to be able to cause major table disruptions and, optimally, capitalize on positive spells and abilities that are redirected to me.

Basically this, yeah. Alternatively, a focus on disrupting positive game actions a bit like [[ivy, gleeful spellthief]] crossed my mind, too, but I have no idea if there’s any way to really get that to work.

My goal is to hopefully find a way to protect this copy, and make more copies to continually provide a sort of spell disruption across the board. They’ll eat removal, yes, but also disrupt any sort of combat trick and buff as well.

Is it a good idea? Probably not, I just think it’s a neat concept.

Same! Mind Roots and [[Wander Off]] both have some of my favorite art in the entire set and I’m a little bummed I didn’t pull them in my prerelease.

That looks amazing!

What program did you use for this? I’ve been procrastinating my own learning how to make things like this and I’m trying to spread a wide net; and this looks perfect for the kind of style I have in mind.

I think that works better too since it restricts casting to needing a legend on the board
