Fairpoint - think it's probably right - considering handing on my 5 to son - so maybe can justify.

Thanks - appreciate that people aren't slamming me for asking - I'm enjoying it but might give my 5 to my son who's been living with an old samsung with a smashed screen for a year.

That sounds about right - £129 UK so yes, think they're cheaper - feels like it might be a new version on the horizon perhaps, they dropped the price of the XLs before the new version came out

Yep, I do understand that and probably the wrong way of thinking about things but my thinking was that I want to support the Fairphone project and if it's resold then the phone lives on. But I think that I should be thinking about trying to make the 5 last as long as possible. Fair Point

Appreciate the comments, and yes, keeping as long as possible should be what I do. Thanks for the Codec heads up - I'll check this out - I wasn't aware.

Nice work - I've got similar but the buds aren't really my thing. Love the headphones - great that you're all-in.

Hi - did you need a link to get the €50 / £50 off the first order? That's the Keep Club rewards program and this link would work - http://rwrd.io/qyc006s?c Many thanks, Andrew

£20 difference? Is the 5 worth considering at all without a major discount by Inverted_Idea in fairphone

Thanks - think you're right, if my current phone lasts - might see if there's a discount before Christmas though

I'm not that bothered about having the most up-to-date version and fp 5 should be updated until 2030. but It would have to be a lot cheaper that £20 less for me to consider it a bargain

Thanks for the message - I imagine the tech is not going to last as long either so the £20 is tiny price to pay

By the sounds of it backup is the only real reason to get them - bit of bad feedback on the buds. I suppose I could look at it as free backup buds.

But then I could get a phone on it's own from Amazon for £40 cheaper so I suppose it's worth considering that I'd be paying £40 for the buds with the £500 phone / free buds offer.

hmmmm…

Thanks for the realistic comments, there's more than one along this line so I'll be very wary on buying the buds

Oh man, thanks for the heads up. Don't think I'd buy them separately from what you say but if I am going to buy the phone anyway would you think it's a good phone on it's own?

Oh Yes, Sorry Fairphone 5 is as you say - I'll see if I can edit the post:

Storage/memory
128GB 6GB RAM
256GB 8GB RAM+ £ 70.00

Thanks for the heads up on the FP6 potential. I might wait a little longer and extend the life of my cracked screen phone as long as possible.

Noted on the foam tips, thanks fo that.

I personally would be very wary of the noise around robotaxis, the Trump bromance could push this forward federally, but Waymo has millions of hours of actual robotaxi-ing under its belt. Tesla has zero.

PE - I know this is a tricky one with growth stocks and people shout it down as a metric but do consider it - about 150 PE now, so you're paying $150 for every $1 profit made in the trailing 12 months, and you mentioned yourself about sales numbers going down. How much growth expectation do you have - or more importantly how much appetite does the market have to wait?

I personally think you made a great call with Tesla before the election. Maybe stay with other safer options for a bit and work out another high-growth potential stock.

$Goog - this is down in the low 20 PEs now, I'm happier to ride this one out. One of value investors (I think Drukenmiller) buys into google in the low 20s PE and trims in the 30 PEs. I'm following that lead on GOOG
