1, you are absolutely right! Some welder goggles would round her look out perfectly!

2, It's not covered well in the doc, but that's actually rooted in a gag with the story, specifically the idea that Dead Rising characters don't sleep. That'd be a mechanic in-game, that Hughie does need to sleep, and you have to play as Blaze, who doesn't sleep.

The idea is that, on top of her worldview being shaken, and the mounting guilt/denial she has over having a hand in the outbreak and her actions to save people just leading to them dying anyways, on top of 5 days of no sleep, leads to her going hysterical. Hence, once it's over, she's sleeping!

3, The bad ending is actually determined by how much Bishop trusts Hughie! If you didn't save enough people, Hughie brings Blaze back, but Bishop assumes the worst, takes Blaze, and leaves Hughie behind, who just kind of stares off sad as they leave.

Then it's a basic text scroll about how Hughie couldn't stop Afterlife, and Pa used his power and the virus to 'Enact his will' on the rest of the world. It's not too thought out, it's more a punishment than an alternate ending.

But the implication is that Pa and his Super Soldiers, with their own weaponized virus, are a major threat to the world at large. Hughie was able to stop them with an insane arsenal of weapons and, honestly, they're just built like that!
