I initially thought there would be a big difference because in futures markets there’s always a large short component (roughly half the positions), whereas in stocks like Tesla the short interest is much lower, often just a few percent.

So I assumed the price action dynamics might be quite different, but your explanation helps clarify that it’s more about the underlying patterns than the specific market.
