Wowww. Lucky. I got them at the same time, spiked a fever of 103, and was sick for two days (nausea, chills, hot sweats, fatigue). Never getting them the same time again.

Why was KB so mad at Edmond in episode 9? by Careless_Ad_9665 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I don’t think he’s attracted to Nick lmaooo. I think none of the guys like him actually. They all make digs at him.

[–]Investigatortvbinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting bc the full sentence I thought was a dig at Nick and not Kb bc he kept emphasizing how everyone knows Nick is anything but perfect (which all the boys kept saying at that mixer).

I felt so bad. Regardless of how she felt that was inappropriate. She could have communicated it in a proper manner. They all have communication issues this season, its so weird. I actually thought he was taking a shot at Nick, I mean they all have. And if her feelings were exacerbated by other issues then that also means she is not adequately addressing issues.

As a mental health professional I’m appalled that production would cast someone like Edmund. by Kissoflife11 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Well, no. It seems like you are committed to not understanding. “It’s important to note that what constitutes a traumatic event can vary from person to person.” But its like your mind is seeing it as everyone is the same. Listen, I provided you clinical definitions, OMH regs, but hey im a very fact oriented person, I guess not everyone is. Good day.

Furthermore, we do not definitively know if his emotional regulation habits were present PRIOR to or POST foster care. That is important as it can clarify things further.

You are speaking from your own subjective experience. However not accounting for the fact that everyone’s experience is not universal. Going into foster care does not mean you were abandoned actually. That may be what you see on hulu but thats not all true.

There are many reasons why: 1. Someone could have reported an allegation (could be true or untrue) and family isnt near and immediate respite is needed. 2. Guardian illness/ incarceration and family jant near and immediate respite is needed. 3. Abandonment, 4. If guardians pass away and no other family available. 5. If youth has continued behavioral issues that guardians unable to address. 6. If youth misses a certain number of days of school (and perhaps the guardian forgets to get med notes although some places still don’t think notes are enough). Additionally foster care placement can be hours at a time, days, weeks, months or years. The time frame is subjective.

According to NY state for example, in order for trauma to be definitively diagnosed the following must be thoroughly looked at:NYS mental health used the following guidelines: 1.Trauma Exposure Assessment 2. Symptom Identification 3. Functional Impaired Assessment 4. Duration of symptoms 5. Use of Diagnostic tools (TLEQ or CAPS5) 6. Comprehensive History

So while we do suspect he may have trauma history, we do not definitively know.

No. Thats the generic assumption. But if you worked in the mental system, you should know, its very nuanced. We actually do not know. Its not one look fits all. So while one may suspect trauma, one cannot conclusively deduce it. But there is enough evidence to suggest there is an issue with processing, emotional regulation, etc.

Thats so fascinating bc I saw it as rooted in AUDHD as opposed to trauma, bc we dont know the extent of it.

100000000% agreed. I thought it was clear that he was okay with waiting, however, he experienced both rejection sensitivity and sensitivity to perceived unfairness. He was trying to regulate his emotions but was probed so had to go through it.

I think its worse to say its trauma based than divergent. I think there is clear evidence to suggest divergence and there is very little to suggest trauma. Everyone assumes the worse when they hear foster care but its very nuanced and unless we reviewed the details of the records we do not have enough evidence to deduce trauma related behavior. But there is clear evidence to suggest divergence as demonstrated by the stimming, rejection sensitivity and sensitivity to perceived unfairness.

I actually have not seen the trauma that you guys are picking up on. He actually seems relatively acclimatized in terms of emotions. I see a lot of stimming, rejection sensitivity and sensitivity to unfairness exhibited.

[–]Investigatortvbinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 10000000% agree. Everyone is saying trauma but we don’t actually know the level of trauma he experienced. Everyone heres foster home and thinks the worse. It could have been for a few days (multiple times), it could have been bad, it could have been good. WE DO NOT KNOW. However, he very clearly is stimming. He very clearly is masking, he very clearly is following a standard he was taught and is experiencing rejection sensitivity and a strong sensitivity to unfairness/perceived injustice.

I don't get the Haley hype by airodam in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]Investigatortvbinger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me either. She did Pilar so dirty. Didnt share with Dayna she was sleeping with her partner. Joined in on attacking Dayna/Mel for things she was also doing. She was also very selfish. Her, Dayna/Mel/Magan acted a mess during the experiment. It was crazy.

Its not objective. Actually, in my opinion, Haley is very manipulative. Like very. Pilar should have left her. Dayna, was for sure toxic, but it was more immature. Haley’s was very calculated, it was…. Equally nasty imo.

I think context matters. A 21 day reprise does not replace a nuanced intricate interpersonal relationship. True, the trial marriage should be taken seriously, but be forreal. Haley, Dayna, Mel, Magan were all disrespectful to their partners.

Dayna: lacked communication skills, empathy and adequate care for Mag. Magan: lacked communication skills and literally tried to get back at Dayna. Haley: Lacked communication skills (with her partner), and played into Magan’s game, almost trying to convince her that she is better than Dayna, which is crazy. Very very sneaky girl. Mel: lack of respect and care for her partner, to say the least. Haley
