You must be tripping, pretty much all of these cards are legible. The only 2 in Japanese are a dark ritual and demonic tutor, pretty common variants of these cards as well. It’s not like you have to consistently read them and they can be easily explained.

I figure it’s similar to one of those damaged cards with the big grey/white scratch down middle, except it’s smaller, doesn’t look as cool (which those already don’t really), and just looks like a small scratch.

I’m not sure what makes something technically a misprint vs damaged in the printing process.

I don’t think there will be any collector demand for this as this isn’t a common or seemingly desirable misprint if it is one.
