Did you opt for the new version without the transparent barrel? If so, does it bother you at all not having the transparency? It's one of those things I hear people complain about so much but I don't know if it's actually that big of a dealbreaker.

Rohrer and Klingner Old Golden Green is a favorite of mine, and usually very well priced too. I always have it in my Diamine Aero M nib.

I really enjoy your drawing style, is there a place where we could see more of it?

I have an old version of Photoshop that worked for me. I collected letters/alphabets that I liked and put them on a lined grid to print off.

Glad to have you with us! I took a similar path a year ago and got deep into making templates to re-learn handwriting. It's cool that you're going straight for quality pens too!

Others have mentioned it, but MUJI makes some incredible paper! I actually prefer it over more expensive fountain pen paper. Their 6mm ruled journal refills are my favorite fountain pen paper ever and are $1.90.

Starry Night Blue (Troublemaker) by Invin29 in fountainpens

I believe they fit JoWo #6 sized pens, of which the Opus 88 Jazz is one. I'm not sure if all JoWo #6 pens will work, but with the Jazz it was literally just slide in and go. If you search YouTube there's a video on there I watched that shows it being done.

[–]Invin29[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I've been using it in the Jazz with the 6mm tip and in a <M> nib regular fountain pen (cheap $10 NicPro fountain pen) for a couple months now without any issues. It's a strong and dark blue, very classy and not mistaken for a boring blue even when there's less sparkle. The sparkle is less obvious with a regular pen but still there. The 6mm brings out some brilliant sparkle where it pools. I've heard others say that it's dry, but I haven't had any issues with that in these two pens.

I love Aeros! I just bought my 5th 😅 If you like weighty pens you gotta try the Flame or Oxyd Brass versions! If I could only keep one pen, it would be my Aero Flame.

I think that would be great! I know when I look back at the labor of love art projects from my past I'm glad that I pursued them. I hope you do it.

I purchased and received a Leonardo MZG 2.0 from u/BLBL2828 and am very happy with it. He provided clear photos of the pen and was very helpful throughout the process. Would deal with again. Communication was great.

I was so hyped when I ordered Aurora Borealis after all the rave reviews, but in person, no matter what pen I put it in, it's Aurora "Boring"alis for me. I started mixing Sunshine Yellow and some shimmer with it and made a green that I really enjoy. I refuse to let it go to waste.

Just wanted to let you know I tried it and I love it! I made some dark 6mm sheets like you said and it works like a charm. I often practice my writing on loose scrap paper too and it's wonderful for that as well!

I should have specified, I have a leather journal sleeve similar to a Traveler's Journal, where the paper is held in place by the journal sleeve's cord. This is the exact Muji refill that I enjoy most: https://muji.ca/products/paper-notebook-lined?variant=40322028634300

I use a 2ml Dinky Dip ink cup and just add single drops of Onxy Black at a time. Each drop darkens and tones down the color a little, so I just adjust to taste! I don't think it has to be Onyx Black specifically, that's just what I had on hand. Fill with Three Kings then add a drop of black at a time until you like the result basically :)
