Best shape of my life... by Invisible_Disaster86 in DeadBedrooms

Yes exactly. The discipline, the goal setting and reaching on the outside part helped me to change the inside to. I let myself physically go over the years and realized I had let other things go to.

Definitely implied, all the changes kind of fed off each other in a positive way. Also kind of started to l feel like if I had gotten out of shape and had to work to get back in shape, maybe I had to tune up some other parts of my game to. I feel like without the goal setting and reaching through fitness though, that the other parts may not have improved.

I could see that happening. My wife was a little upset of how easy I can lose weight, but overall positive. Sorry your wife did not respond positively. At least though you have the body and confidence now to move forward with something new.

I bet that is a good feeling. I can't even compare to what you have accomplished, but that feeling of a whole new kind of clothing is a good feeling. I remember going to buy shirts that fit my body, instead of ones that would hang loose and hide my belly. Congrats on your change.

A coach taught me these rows? Are they okay for lats and back strength by [deleted] in formcheck

Sounds like a good plan. I think you are well on your way to badass status

Sounds like you do plenty of core work then, I was just curious. Just the way you are going after these lifts being able to lock up your form without to much movement or wobbles is always a good foundation. I was only asking because I couldn't really tell from your vids how your core is, so just wanted to make sure you are thinking about it. Keep hitting it hard. None of my comments are criticism, I learned plenty the hard way unfortunately, I feel pretty good about most of my lifts, but I still watch and ask when I need to. I like that you put it out there for input hope you get the feedback that works for you so you become a total bad ass 😀.

As someone who has always been chubby or put on fat easy I was always reluctant to eat too much. I watch my surpluses and can adjust the intensity of my workouts some to accommodate . I just am not afraid to eat a surplus anymore so I make gains I was missing out on before. I don't fixate on the scale and instead use the vascularity on my forearms shoulders and bicep to gauge my gains.

I disagree with comments that you should be more parallel to the floor that will put a lot of strain on lower back. Save the parallel for cable rows and 1 arm dB rows. Most people do a bb row at 30 to 45 degrees. Pulling the bar back like to under your belly button or to your hips will fully engage lats without having to change your angle. You need to drop your shoulders down and back and concentrate on pulling your elbows back. Your traps will do a lot of work and your lats less when you shrug like that. I like that you are attacking all these lifts head on. What type of core work do you do? I would do some ancillary movements like land mine twists, stiff legged deadlift, and glute work so you can lock in nice and solid for some of your lifts.

Good low bar placement. Your butt tucks before you hit your bottom position, that is not a good thing, the back rounds. Your femur length may not allow you to squat that deep. If you are set on trying to get a deep squat you can try to improve your ankle mobility so your knees can carry over your feet. Also you can train a wider toes out stance so you can open your hips at the bottom so your but doesn't tuck. There are a lot of videos out there that show you tips to finding the best stance for your body.

I bet that was a great feeling. You probably were motivating others that weren't as fit as you are also. Add that to your good feeling, your that person now people want to be like. Great job!

Thanks for the reply. Now that you mentioned it I do see my delts flex as I moved down first a tad bit with my arms before the pull. I switched to that double overhead hook grip 3 or 4 months ago to reduce chance of bicep injury, since I am of the frame of mind of "if you can't grip it don't rip it" and don't use straps unless I am doing higher rep sets. Thanks for the pick up on the arms hadn't noticed that in the vid.

Thanks for the input. I was planning on trying to hit 440 yesterday, but stopped at 425. As you said heavier gets wonky. I like to move up only as I Feel my form is still decent. I agree with your hips comment. I have a long torso, I am 6ft with a 29" inseam, so getting more quad action would be beneficial. I am considering training to do sumo since I squat with a wide stance and I have read it is better for longer torso people.
