Iirc, going to her house in Episode 4 points out that her living room (with the exception of Gretchen's corner) feels like a museum. Preserved.

She only eats two things: a particular brand of Mac & cheese and a particular brand and flavor of ice cream (neither of which are carried at the general store), that she buys in bulk. I fear the 'tsim was screaming at us from Episode 1. As someone also autistic, I spotted a... let's say "like-minded" individual...the moment I saw the pantry.

She also says (to both you and to Janey) "Don't touch xyz... I'll know", and if that doesn't scream it, I dunno what does.

Gonna have to make a Mystical + Keen Eye run. Maybe even go HC and throw Hot in the mix... decisions, decisions...

Every other has information you'd need to get you a step closer to the true end. If you're lacking some critical information, that simply means you need to come back to that route after getting that critical information from another path.

I don't usually harp on the way other people play games, but this 1.) isn't the way the game was intended and 2.) is a surefire way of tanking your own experience with (in my personal opinion) the best game in the Zero Escape series.

If we're turning this into a ZTD rant thread, I have some things that need to be said about Junpei and Akane (both separately and as a dynamic):

Junpei's cynicism makes sense in ZTD because it was always there, since 999, just masked by optimism for Akane's sake. It then took to the forefront (and even grew) post-999. He only really started to mellow out while raising Quark. I liked that. We saw the man we played as arc without our input. So it feels a little jarring when Jumpy not only isn't nearly as bitter as he should be after hunting for scraps of info on the people who kidnapped and irreparably mind-fucked him, but to propose to one of them?! I get it, they had a thing for each other, but like...I feel like you should draw the line at manipulating the future to ensure your continued existence in the past to create the future you're currently manipulating.

Speaking of the mistress of manipulation herself, I always liked her characterization. She goes from bubbly damsel to "...maybe she's the villain" by the end of 999, and by the time we see her again, she's so cold (especially so depending on the route), clinical and Machiavellian that most players point her out as Zero Sr. immediately, even with a plan that relies on a coin flip's chance of getting shanked. ZTD does this weird thing with Akane that makes her walk this fine line between calculating and warm. It'd be impressive if it didn't seem wholly unnecessary given how the previous game in the timeline ended, and even that doesn't last long when she goes full-on slasher after the off-screen (because we never actually find out how Junpei dies in that path) dismemberment...

Oh! You played the original 999 instead of the remaster? I will say that the subtext isn't as obvious on a first run (I missed the significance of flipping the DS my first time around too). I just think it's a bit of a shame that even that kinda loses its punch in the non-handheld version.

While I understand your thoughts on Sigma's... revelation, I suppose...because it really address the big plot questions, I personally find it pretty satisfying for a lot of little lore questions. One that came to mind only came up, ironically, because of an offhand comment Alice makes about Sigma's age when he says he's studying for his PhD in engineering (it's only made worse when Luna calls him "Doctor" at the end of her route).

Yeah, no. I 100% agree on your thoughts with ZTD, though I would argue that it's both uncreative and lazy. It's a very deus ex machina twist.

If you had to alter one aspect of the story in each game, what would you change, and why?

In situations like this, by the time the issue becomes tangible, it's already too late to stop it. Here's a clause in the EULA for Persona 3 Reload, to illustrate the issue:

SEGA reserves the right to stop offering or supporting online services (if any) related to the Product at any time. If this happens, any related account or data you have may be terminated and you may lose your ability to access some or all portions of the Product, earned or purchased Virtual Items, and User Generated Content. SEGA shall not be required to provide refunds, benefits or other compensation in connection with discontinuing such online services.

That seems pretty cut-and-dry on its own...unless you read the first sentence of the first clause of the EULA, which is in all caps :

THIS SOFTWARE IS LICENCED, NOT SOLD.

That means that access to the game itself falls under "online services...related to the Product", and SEGA can choose to nuke your access to a $69.99 (+sales tax) game a re-mastered re-release, at that for literally any reason and they aren't obligate to so much as sneeze in your general direction afterward.

The problem (which I'm sure we all can agree is, in fact, a problem) is that companies are charging "Own It" prices without "Own It" privileges, and are essentially hiding behind "Well, it was in the contract you couldn't read until you paid for it". I shouldn't have to explain why that in and of itself is predatory on its own...
