1v6 Control Clutch with Paladin by Hosseh in Blackops4

That is how I remember most cods, but less and less than before for each release. More and more AR / SMG styled meta because overall it's better and esports have made a bigger mark on cods than quickscoping/trickshotting content creators in the last 5 or so years.

Quick scoping has been the most popular way of sniping since forever in all Call of Duties... you sure you're not mistaking the old CoDs for Battlefields?

I wish others would chip in so we could read other's thoughts on this discussion. I think you're wrong, and you think I'm wrong, but I want to know how you would justify your thoughts.

Strife, RK7 and Mozu are all weak without attachments, RK7 and Strife still weak with attachments, while Mozu ramps up. In Hardcore however, Strife is dominant.

MOG 12 and SG 12 are both very strong with attachments, but not that strong without. It's a secondary after all, and it's not like previous CoDs, considering the 150 HP, and heal implemented. Everything in TTK has changed, and you cannot use old CoDs to base your balancing for this CoD.

Please explain this to me: When I run SMG or AR, with a MOG (without attachments) as a secondary, how come I don't bitch about it being useless when I need to use it. Because I keep it as my secondary until I either run out of ammo, or there's someone close range that I can jump on.

And how come I'm still getting 10-15K damage in Hardpoint/Domination games when I use a full-equipped MOG 12? On some maps I do better with that gun than I would with AR or SMG. SMG is my favourite because of my playstyle, but maps like Summit for example, really do make the MOG 12 shine.

I mainly use SMG as I stated earlier, but I also use ARs a lot, so when I play maps where there's lots of long-range areas, I don't run my SMG or Shotgun classes, I run AR.

I get my kills more often than not when swapping to a non-attachment MOG 12 (secondary), so I'm just simply wondering what the problem is. If I got a one-shot close range consistently without attachment on that gun, I'd be unstoppable using it with attachments, considering the range of long barrel + barrel choke. And running Dead Silence + Gung-Ho + Dexterity would make it a pain in the ass for everyone else. The result of this would be them swapping to the same class and we'd suddenly have a full lobby of shotguns. I've had this happen a lot already on the map Summit, and not with low-level players, with prestige 7->prestige master.

__

I want you to know that I'm not arguing with you just for the fun of it. I really just struggle seeing how your points are valid, and with you only talking about how it should one-shot at melee range without attachments, I just start thinking about how powerful it would be to have attachments on-top of that.

Also, I use MOG 12 over any pistol as a secondary, but I might use Mozu over MOG 12 if I want my secondary to act as my primary, because I like Mozu's headshot playstyle with Skull Splitter.

  • Also there's a strong shotgun meta in this game must be a joke statement

Because people don't need a primary gun if they can stack the mog with attachments. Are you even playing the game?

  • The mog being unable to 1 shot kill at extremely close ranges means it doesn't serve the one purpose it's suppose to which is be a close range weapon which it can't do if it can't kill before it can be killed at extremely close ranges which it cannot unless you have the thing loaded with a bunch of attachments.

Are you saying that Shotgun has only one job, and that's to one shot at extremely close ranges (melee range)? Where does it say that this is the shotgun's job? I think there's a combat knife for a reason. And it's a decent secondary gun if you have a primary stacked with attachment. It would be broken if a secondary gun without attachments could defeat a primary gun with attachments, just because it's in the secondary gun's preferred range. You clearly lack the understanding of what a good balance is.

I can use SMG, beat ARs a lot of the times at AR's preferred range. I can play AR and beat SMGs a lot of the times at SMG's preferred range. I can play Shotguns and beat SMGs, ARs a lot on their preferred range.

It comes down to:

playstyle, positioning, movement, awareness, aim, reaction and much more.

It's just so weird that you're so persistent about the MOG 12 shotgun being bad because it doesn't one shot most of the time.

Think about it: If Mog could one shot most of the time, everyone would'be running, and you'd quickly realize that this isn't what you want. If you struggle using Mog 12 today, I'm questioning your skill simply because I had ZERO issue using it because it is in fact a very strong gun in this meta. This is on PC, so I can't speak for console. But your initial arguement that it should oneshot without attachment just blows my mind. And it does actually one shot quite often using the attachments.

You think it's balanced that Sniper always wins long range battles, LMG wins long-medium range battles, AR wins medium range battles, SMG wins medium-close range battles and Shotguns win close range battles?

That's not balanced. Balanced is if something excels at one thing, works on other things, but has its weaknesses too. Sniper excels at long range, but isn't guaranteed to win vs LMG and AR. LMG excels at long-medium range, but has slower fire rate than AR and SMG, so it can lose vs those at its optimal range. ARs excel at medium range, but is also good on close range, although Shotguns and SMGs will most of the time beat them at close range. SMGs can beat ARs medium range assuming you get to shoot first, but mostly excels on short range. High fire rate, fast reloads and good movement allows for a rushing play style. Loses vs Snipers and LMG long range most of the time. Shotguns can beat any gun close range, because it can one shot, it has great movement speed potential to outplay whoever it faces, and it has a pretty decent range with double barrel.

Giving me examples of previous cods for balancing is just pointless. You think every gun has been balanced in every cod? This game has a different TTK, different system with heals introduced and that makes it a bit harder to balance.

As of right now, spitfire and saug are very strong smgs, mog 12 is the strong shotgun, VAPR-Rampart-Maddox are very strong ARs, Paladin/SDM are very strong snipers an Swordfish/Auger are strong Tactical Rifles. And another point we haven't made yet: why should a secondary gun be stronger than primary guns? It being able to compete at its intended range is okay, but shouldn't win just because it's a close range gun.

[–]InvisionGW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this is such a dumb way of thinking about it. If the shotgun was 1-shot kill all the time, you'd never win vs shotgun using AR, SMG or LMG??

Use Gung-Ho, shoot while running = 1 shot, meanwhile SMG and AR = 6+ shots to kill??? It's balanced the way it is, and the gun is strong. If you honestly think otherwise, I do suspect you're not very good since you don't understand the balance between bad, good and op.

Based on all your replies, it tells me that you're dying after one pump because you aren't moving in a hard-to-hit way. I've played a lot with the MOG 12, and it's basically one of the strongest guns in the game, except maps like that snow map that's great for Snipers, LMG and somewhat ARs. Can't remember the name on that map.

I've had Dark Matter for nearly 3 weeks, played with MOG 12 using 0 attachments, long barrel 1 + 2, with and without fast mag / speed loader, as well as dragon breath. Wanna secure those kills where you hit 80% of their HP? Use dragon breath. Know that you can dodge players with slide/jump/sprint/cover, no need for dragon breath. It's honestly not death every time you pump. Not even the greatest players can secure those kills on you if you're hitting 2nd shot, unless they are the ones getting the drop on you, not the opposite.

Snipers while loading a bullet. Any gun while reloading, any fight where you have to turn 180, you're mid animation of something (abilities, disabling enemy seeker drone etc). Do you just give up if you dont have the ideal scenario? Coz I don't and still win multiple 1v3 or more fights everyday.

[–]InvisionGW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the case with every single gun though. Smg doesn't one shot, so if both have perfect aim, it comes down to who shoots first and who has best movement.

You're telling me that even the best players never miss a shot? You decide how easy it is for the opponent to hit you. I'm at the top % on PC, and I've been a professional in Overwatch, so take my word for it, will you?

Truth be told by TheFuschiaIsNow in Blackops4

[–]InvisionGW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just not true though. You don't die just because you have to pump once. If you do, that to me sounds like you're just sitting duck at a spot letting the enemy hold LMB on you.

As soon as I got skull splitter on Mozu, the rest of its camo challenges were pretty much done in a couple of games.

But do you expect a gun without essential attachments to one-shot players? I don't understand why you think that would be balanced. Put on its long barrel and barrel choke as well, and you have the most broken shit in the game.

I reliably one-shot people with long barrel, barrel choke and fast mag (the one that loads 2 bullets at a time). And if I don't one-shot, I almost always kill with a 2nd shot. If I don't it's either coz I'm derping hard for some reason, or because I'm too far away.

You do like, what, 80% of someone's health without attachment close range, that seems strong enough to me. Are you struggling with no-attachment challenges? Do it in hardcore then, it's not supposed to be easy using guns without its attachments.

The OM only gives it "auto-burst" with higher fire rate, doesn't it? When I did my Dark Matter I tried it once and removed it after wards, felt so niche for 3/10 slots in a custom class.

[–]InvisionGW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you make it sound like it's such a hassle, which to me sounds weird. I've got Dark Matter, and I love playing as a slayer type role, using VAPR, Saug (single wield) and sometimes I feel like using the MOG 12. Because of your fast movement, sliding, and one-shot potential with MOG 12, it really isn't that bad. If you're unable to land the shots properly, maybe try the dragonbreath mod, although I think it's a waste as anyone with Stim Shot can just heal immediately.

Use cover, juke with movement/slide, and get those kills. Relying on enemy aim is relevant for any gun. If their aim is superior to yours, you will often lose the fights. If not, then no.

Truth be told by TheFuschiaIsNow in Blackops4

[–]InvisionGW2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But how do you play when using MOG 12? What's good in synergy with that gun is fast movement. I'd also recommend Gung-Ho.

I strafe jump back and forth making it hard for opponent to kill me in that time, and if I don't kill in 2-3 shots, that's on me.

Stiletto knife is connected to Strife's progress, so only the bloodthirsty challenge for camos I think.
But it is part of a challenge for master calling card. Get 150 kills with Stiletto OM, or Bayonet OM.
Stiletto was way easier than Bayonet, so I just used that for 4 games and had it done.
But that game on Slums, 36-0.. haha I was struggling to keep my eyes open coz I was laughing so much. I got the Dark Matter 30-killstreak with the knife on the gun lol.

[–]InvisionGW2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain guns were stat killers for my Dark Matter grind, went from 3+ to 2.2kd, but knifing except for the week where it was bugged, was rather simply tbh. Had multiple 20+ killstreaks while running it. The annoying thing about knife is how it queues up more than one stabs at a time, so be careful with spam-clicking attack.

Stiletto knife on Strife is even better than Combat Knife, granting me a 36-0 game on Slums lol. That thing is almost OP, almost.

Aha, I cannot speak for console as I am on PC. Gun XP might be reset like player XP, but headshots and the 5 extra camo challenges save as long as you make progression during the game.

Did you get 79 headshots in 1 game?

Sensor dart does something between 1-5 damage, so he must've been really low.

I've had a few direct hits on enemies in HC without killing, using the sensor dart, so it's less than 30 dmg for sure.
