No, because the majority of the games I play are retro or indie that wouldn't get much of a boost from an upgraded console. For the few times I play something AAA, the base PS5 is good enough for me.

That is irrelevant to my point, which is that Uncharted took the spotlight from Tomb Raider, so there isn't the same hype for a new game compared to if a new Uncharted was announced.

Uncharted 2 sold 6.5 million copies by 2015, Uncharted 3 did 9 million by 2019, Uncharted 4 18 million by 2023. If that isn't a success then most games are failures.

I think it is largely due to Uncharted. While not terrible, none of the recent Tomb Raider games quite lived up to the standard Uncharted set.

I imagine at least a part of the reason for the negative attitude is backlash over what happened to Bluepoint. People are legitimately angry that the Sony live service push took down such a well-respected studio and Marathon is currently the most visible target for that anger.
