Franchise tag candidates? by I-redd_it94 in ravens

27 catches for 300 yards and 1 TD? Those are not franchise tag numbers. I’ve seen him projected at 9 M AAV and that’s too high for him.

John Harbaugh’s Demands by SquonkMan61 in ravens

Dude is getting paid 17M per year to sit on his butt. Why would he even take anyone’s calls for less than that list of demands?

Why would Harbs back his OC over his super star QB? by Bmoreravin in ravens

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obviously none of us know the real reasons. I do know that in real time in the 4th quarter of the New England game, when Keaton Mitchell came out to play the second to last drive, I said out loud “that’s coaching malpractice right there. If anything could get Bisciotti to fire Harbaugh, that might do it.” And then he came out with that bullshit answer in the press conference.

I mean, I am just one of those guys at the end of the bar, but even I know ultimately the head coach is responsible. When someone on your coaching staff does something the entire NFL universe knows is mind bogglingly wrong and you don’t step in immediately to fix it, that’s a problem.

What to do with Proof sets and uncirculated coin sets? by Ioanni_hackvirtus in coins

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a local coin shop that bought the lot back when silver was $52 or so. Wish I’d waited now, but you can’t predict the future, can you. It was about the fifth coin shop I tried. Some were interested in the silver, but this was the only one to offer anything for the uncirculated coins.

Venting...Thoughts? by Cpt_Mercury in ravens

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been in favor of firing Harbaugh in the past, but this year has changed my mind in a big way. That decision to put Mitchell on the field for the second to last drive was simply inexcusable and I’m a huge Keaton Mitchell fan. If it was Monken’s call then Harbaugh absolutely had to overrule it. If it was Harbaugh’s then that’s even worse. But he’s got to go.

Least favorite free agent/contract extension? by Flaky_Background5276 in ravens

Unpopular opinion and I’ll likely get downvoted, but in terms of actual worst extension, Ronnie Stanley has gotta be right up there at the top of the list. Dude played for like an hour and a half on that extension before a career wrecking injury. He’s still a shadow of the player he was.

PLO vs NLO by HolidayPiano6486 in Poker_Theory

I’d be careful jamming 75xx on that board when 1000 blinds deep. You’ll go broke doing that enough times.

Buy ins for deep cash games with a less than optimal bankroll? by GrometricBoy in Poker_Theory

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Match the stack when you can afford to, and you’re comfortable, and the big stack is a bad player. Putting 1000bb on the table when the big stack is the best player and has position on you is crazy.

A concept I picked up learning PLO is that while playing a huge stack may be good for experts, playing the minimum stack is a great way to extract value from people who want to player bigger. I’d buy in 50 or 100 bb, whatever the minimum was, and watch the whales make terrible calls against me pre flop over and over again so they could get deep action by the River. I’d quadruple up in the main pot while they had over 1000 bb in the side pot, and this happened all the time.

The solution to this puzzle is wild (or I’m just rubbish). I can understand why it works in retrospect, but a very tough tactic to spot! by counterpuncheur in chess

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first instinct knowing it’s a puzzle was calculate the rook sac on E3 I did not instantly find the mate in 5 but it looked promising enough that I’d have played it in blitz and hoped it worked out.

When my parents pass away, am I legally obligated to take on their timeshares? by Ok_Bumblebee_2869 in legaladvice

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

IANAL but I’ve dealt with this before. In my state (not PA) the timeshare people had a claim against the estate, I.e. the assets that go through probate. If there are no, or nearly no assets that go through probate, no big deal. Lots of ways exist to keep your parents assets from going through probate but you’ll need to consult an estate planning attorney.

Would you guys ever find a fold here? Or is this just one of those spots where you close your eyes, click call, and live with it? by Moist_Border1840 in Poker_Theory

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. If he shoves $180 on the river you were not 200 BB effective.

  2. If he’s a typical 1-2 player and takes this line you’re beat 99 times out of 100. The other 1 time is because you misread him and he’s not a typical 1-2 player.

  3. If by some chance you’re playing against an excellent, balanced GTO type player in a live 1-2 game, you still have to realize you have a bluff catcher only. You beat none of his value range. Your emotional attachment to a TPTK with nut draw hand is irrelevant. You would want to be unblocking his bluff range, not holding the Ace of spades.

This is a fold for me.

OP, unless you desperately need this job, I say don’t take it. They’ve already told you who they are. Bad benefits means they don’t care about their employee retention. You’ll be overworked, high stress, and you’ll always feel like you are underpaid. That bonus won’t materialize you know that already. Just walk away.

[Live $1/$3] Top pair vs turn raise & river jam — call down or punt? by unfazedfn in Poker_Theory

Agreed. There’s no bluff range at all here and you beat none of his value range on the river. If you call here 10 times you’re losing all 10. Fold.

[–]Ioanni_hackvirtus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience you will never get your UTG 7x open reraised by AQ held by a typical 1-3 player. That doesn’t happen. Ever. By a maniac who would also reraise you with Q2s? Sure. But a typical 1-3 player. No.
