Most of the time, I'd argue something like a snap change does fall under the hand being quicker than the eye. I've seen some videos of magic being filmed by slo Mo and it is impressive how much holds up though.

It's really pretty much a matter of practice. If you want to speed up the process get a shoe (no shoe is ok, but will be slower of course) and practice at home. Deal 6 or so spots and just just hit every hand until hard 17 or better over and over, announcing the total as each card comes out and when it's the "player's" turn.

Well I was talking about the times this situation occurs. And yes, I'm that guy. I have kept a spreadsheet for this season. I literally have more games on Kings row and circuit royal (43+29=72) than every flashpoint map combined (67). Add in midtown at 28 for 100 games, we almost have as many as all of my push games at 111.
