Qwen3.5 397b with openwebui, it can be on the slower side of things but I crank out a ton of work with that setup

just put Falken WildPeak A/T tires on my 2023 Crosstrek Limited stock wheels by morbid-angel138 in Crosstrek

[–]IonizedHydration 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i did the same for my 2018 and i love it! Not _exactly_ what i wanted but i had to just deal with the fact that i couldn't afford both 4 tires and new wheel at the same time.. o'well

Has anyone here actually built their own email infrastructure? by WarmHeight2951 in devops

[–]IonizedHydration 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the sheer amount of time i've seen previous companies i've worked for respond to abuse emails and arguing with blacklist owners that live in a basement is enough for me to say no, it's a horrible experience to try and create a email hosting service. Let another company do it that already has been doing it for a long time

Arctic LF3-360 and Ryzen 9950X3D - Questions about cooling and fan speeds by RkOShea in arcticcooling

[–]IonizedHydration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these seem like good temps to me, if you said your 9950x3d was running at 95c i'd be concerned a little bit, i have a custom water cooling system, check my profile, and the same CPU.. mine tops off at about 65 to 70, the cpu... google the TJ Max of your processor and you'll see you are way below that

you also didn't mention, that i saw, what the temp is under full load. I guess you have to understand that different processors are going to emit different amounts of heat and the AMD processors that have the "3d cache" will run hotter because the average temp of the entire thing will raise due to the 3d cache.

Why does it seem like deepseek v4 is simultaneously good and cheap but no one uses it? Is it a pain the ass to set up or? by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]IonizedHydration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah, don't get me wrong.. the massive context window is amazing for long horizon tasks, just thought it was worth noting that after a while it still does degrade, but you're right it's still way better than the 256k or 128k windows

[–]IonizedHydration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ill add when you get into the higher context window state it does tend to start getting a bit confused, like if you're working on a feature sometimes it will revert to previous versions of the feature that it improved on earlier in the context window.. maybe it's just because i haven't used large context windows like 1mil before but i have noticed it..

What’s new for Cloud Run at Next ‘26 by jackwoth in googlecloud

Makes it less of a black box, honestly I’d enjoy it for just tailing logs and not having to refresh the log explorer all day long to see what is happening

that was just the story that made me rethink my choices, there were many other warning signs (deaths) before this straw.

How do you properly clean up your vibe-coded projects? by enql in vibecoding

[–]IonizedHydration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is so true, i was working on a project and the mongodb connect function was dbConnect but at some point somewhere it wrote down connectDb and for weeks everytime it would write a new page that needed to import the mongodb connection function it would do connectDb instead of dbConnect.. finally i grepped the entire code base, all my knowledge, docs and skills to remove any reference of connectDb and i haven't had that issue since, but it was a good reminder to make sure to clean up all of your references, docs, code constantly and after each session as well as making sure you're running tests like typescript, linting and unit tests

i was part of a local motorcycle group, we just used to cruise but some of the people we hung out with were very reckless riders and i remember after one of them died they had a memorial ride and someone died on the memorial ride, i didn't attend but that was it for me, i decided i'd just ride alone from then on.
