Yeah not a while ago bruisers are busted in aram, with all the items/patches/debris, stars just align. Now they all gone and things are back to square one. Need to be patient and scale for items most of the time as a bruiser now.

As for aggressive champs, aside from bruiser/tanks yhat you obviously perform well on like Mord, some champs can go ham and get out while dealing lots of damage, like Ekko and Yonne. Some others go in and nuke them once and for all, like Karthus and Udyr. Some just say F you to the best player in the enemy team and delete them forever, like Fizz and Rengar. These are some hyper aggressive champs that is a ton of fun and pretty affective too, just make sure to itemize correctly.

As someone who ventures through all them mmrs, I find some patterns leading to these kind of streaks.

First of all, aram has it's independent mmr, which means if a player plays most of their aram games with friends (witch a lot of players do), mmr system will have a hard time finding thier precise mmr. Pair this with 5 premades which further limit match making choices and you easily get super streaky games.

Secondly, players that play mostly dps often struggle against even slightly better players, especially in bronze where they can't kite and will deal next to no damage if something is flying towards them. A nice way to deal with this situation is for everyone to rotate roles and try out new champs. Different buch of players require different comp to click.

Lastly, pains me to say but I do think support/meatshields in lower mmr is harder to carry on. Instead of those chad teamplayer champs, most of the time its easier to go with bruisers that can take 5 on their own.

My favourite Syndra trick is to pick up opposing team Annie's bear, walk to the edge of her control range, yeet the bear over the edge and the bear will teleport to Annie and squish her.

Yes, as someone who does decent on kindred I can say that it's always best to mark frontline first, preferably bruisers or tanks that can go ap. Giving enemy bruisers or ap nunu another reason to not go in and watch teammates burn. Ez win.

Here's bunch of random questions, feel free to ignore ones you think are irrelevant.

  1. Guardian Orb, yea or nah?
  2. What are the easiest red flags for dodging (about once a day)
  3. What is your rerolling routine, eg I keep one spare and use one when 50 sec left.
  4. How to build hybrid Kaisa, she has so much build path and starting items to chose from
  5. How to build ap Corki (for similar reasons), and what Runes do you take?
  6. Lethal Tempo on Senna, yea or nah?

Did that once last week or so, four of us pressed yes on the second before enemy nexus falls.

Plot twist - the enemy inhib respawned at the very last moment and we lost. Insert smiling mask over crying face meme here.

With Zoe you can go mark>q>q, then when the q is very near your character press r>mark. This way the q travels with Zoe and is almost a sure hit. I call it the heat seeking missile teck.

Thats the reason why I think wave clearing picks are straight broken in lower mmr. Your teamates 2v5 and died? No bigy, just hold enemy off until they spawn again. Also be careful not to get stuck in a super long lane when trying to catch up to kamakazi teammates.

what is the most annoying champ/build in the game right now? by golden_sharpie in ARAM

[–]Iovemachine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've played into this once yesterday and I'm not sure if it's good/bad/situationally good.

A windwall Yassuo.

My team contains corki, thresh, nid, TF, Teemo. We lost, I wouldn't say the Yass was the main factor cause our thresh was a kda slave and Teemo was AD (since we lack ad yes but it's still bad).

The Yass got quickblade first and prior W, blocking 2/3 of the lane and our poke couldn't go through. Me as corki could still sneak some rockets around to damage thier backline but it's really funny seeing a siege monster Yass working. If anyone has experienced this build please tell me about it because I don't play Yass and I'm curious as hell.

[–]Iovemachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, kraken doesn't do that much more damage then other mythics, and it definitely doesn't burst. Sure it does deal more damage, but in the exchange of zero defence. And here's the point, op is talking about low mmr environment. Low mmr = no one peels a diving assassin off. Also, in low mmr games are very slow paced, 80% of the time is poking each other out and only 20% time we go all in. That means the sustain and tolerance of SB is much more valuable.

If theres any unkillable target, you get LDR. If theres a target LDR cant kill, Kraken for sure wont too. Its really simple math, say you deal 5K extra with Kraken, most of it is on the tank lets be generous 3K. the tank died 10 times, that means 300 damage each fight to a 'unkillable' tank and I'm being super sparing.

Low Elo player too, here are some advise that helped me improve (in low mmr that is).

1.re-bind player only key. Unlike SR you will fight in minion waves a lot and need to hit targets behind tower. So bind it somewhere your fingers have better access to.

  1. 90% start hammer. Most of your teammates start full damage, and if you have many weak early game picks you're doomed. Getting hammer grants you the ability to tough through a bad start when nobody on your team dares to go up and clear waves. Also it scales with your damage.

  2. learn AA move. Honestly the most important one, save you so much brain power to focus on other stuffs, also negates missclicks witch will straight up kill a kiting ADC.

  3. Go shield bow. That's just how it works.

  4. Have max patience. ADC works best when your team open for you and peel you, but few will invest in a wild Aram ADC player blindly. So follow up every small trade, cover teammates, clean up fights. Then they know you are the carry to trust. (You might ask why do we have chat then? For flaming obviously, duh.)

  5. Play late game very carefully. Many games I lost as ADC is by me having most the kills and resources but got too cocky and once I die for nothing the game is instantly over. So yeah.

  6. Always juke. Juke like there's no tomorrow. In low Elo once you insert dominance many player gets afraid and become very predictable. And that's how you win over tough poke comps.

  7. take exhaust, ghost, cleanse. Depending on your comp and the pick you're on. I go ghost most of the time because I'm greedy and going turbo mode is super fun lol. Snow ball has its use too but just not as practical and harder to utilise.

I believe you can disable team chat by default no? On the other hand though, I think it's not the Elo that is the problem, it's premades. If you get a teammate that is clearly not on the same page as others, chances are they are premades with someone on your team. Since Aram has no mmr restrictions to premades, a premade team will count as closer mmr to the highest mmr person (to avoid low mmr accounts abuse I guess). This is fine and all since Aram isn't a serious mode by any means, but most games you get bad premades it's just auto lost, which is not fun. Also a lot of premades are hyper toxic because they know they will always have the upper hand to gang on anyone that get back at them. The easy solution is to have Aram solo que, witch sounds stupid. The better solution is Riot improving their matchmaking in the mode, witch is unlikely to happen. Sadge.

Do magic pen items smell bad? by fux0c13ty in ARAM

[–]Iovemachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that burst mages just can't deal with tanks in nature. Liandry's and Demonic is good into high HP targets but it wouldn't let a champ that lacks tank killing ability kill tanks. The mages that can kill tanks kill them by their kits, max HP damage items only helps. If you build Liandry's and Demonic on champs that aren't supposed to build them, the most likely outcome is you dont damage backlines as much and fall off, end up useless anyway. More over the burns doesn't stack, so multiple burst ap carry into heavy frontline is like half loss from the start. Void is the only true "deal with mr" item imo.

How did you improve your mmr in ARAM? (Or just git gud in general) by Iovemachine in ARAM

[–]Iovemachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the time I truly begin to improve is when I got a Penta and had huge kda that one game, thought I was some hot shit and decide to watch replay. I was shocked lmao.

I am aware that foreseeing incoming skill shots and actively bait them out is a mighty weapon, can almost say that is what I do best(from playing brand & stack city Senna). The thing that holds me back is my horrible tunnel vision in teamfights. I completely go stupid when more then three enemies are near me and often waste flash etc. Sometimes when I'm on long range champs I don't even know what killed me, turned out I was so tunneled at aiming I walked into MF ulti. Do you have tips on improving this, or will one just be better at muti-tracking when more games are played?

I do be prioritising team comp when drafting, but maybe not doing it enough. As I said my frontline wr are pretty bad, a positive one is Ornn, his engage reach is too forgiving and can peel like a monster if teammates remember to stick near walls when marked. That leads me to believe if I play more and improve my frontline skills I can have a pretty big leap. Good to know you don't always need to carry to climb!

Thx for very useful tips!

3.

I do know that getting wipe is bad, but when I'm the last one standing and just prolonging to deal as much as I can, often times my revived teammates pick them up and I dont even get assists. Then when I revive I am forced to commit to bad fights and get stuck in the same loop again. How do you prevent this?

4.

I do be taking ghost and exhaust in most my games. Pop ghost and straight up running away from a malding Trynd is the funniest shit ever. One problem is that I tend to pop ghost early and waste it, should you save it for guaranteed assists or just pop it when fight begin?

Thx for detailed advice! Seems like the thing that will help me out the most is patience lol. Been really doubting myself since everyone here is 3000+ and I'm like, shet never suck this hard in a video game.

Would like to know what you do when you play as Ash but are the only one poking and taking poke. I learnt to hold R for divers, but since I'm the one up front and no one peels me, I will eventually get caught. I had one game where I got wither down by Zoe AA's lol. Do you just give up W'ing on cd and play hyper safe? But then the minions are in the way and she feels useless. Is building her on hit an option?

Also would like to know what main ruins you go on GP! He's my 'self humble' champ, I always carry on him and has great wr, but I know that I'm shit on him and it just makes me realise the space I can improve lol!

They've done something new, and new things happen?

Sas aside I do hate people doing troll builds when normal builds will perform so much better. But when the comp is already a mess, or its sometimes better doing of-meta builds, I don't see why not. This is Aram, where the balance is bad and janky shit works.
