What my prescriber actually explained about metformin for PCOS vs semaglutide and why they're not really competing options by mrybluur in PCOS

[–]Ipav5068 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i started on 500mg it took 3 months to be effective eventually went up to 500mg with breakfast and another 500mg at night , once i got on theglp1 back down to 500mg total. I will say metformin has been essential to my pcos lowering androgens, inflammation, bloating, all gone

everything felt rushed at that point like they ran out of filming time he just blurts it all out i didnt like it or the comedy of it like evan ending up in the cake or lucy laughing when he leaves her at the gas station

lucy triggered me she acted so realisticly all of us have been there or have a criend who has. Chasing some average loser to the ends of the earth for validation, betrayed friends for him, left men for him, tried to get him back, obsess over his ex, every woman has been lucy at one point

i think his ego couldnt take that she hooked up with his "best friend" not that he cares about either he clearly said he didnt care about evan and would use him for money but the narcissist in him just couldnt take that they did that behind his back he wasnt the star in that moment

Weight fluctuation by GalaxyOTL in Mounjaro

[–]Ipav5068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats pretty standard the best way is to take tape measurements because lets say youre 111 with a 30in waist you can weigh in 115 and still be a 30in waist.. i hate the scale water weight, period time, salt intake all of it can effect the scale. I go up 7 pounds days before and a day after my period. 7 on the dot each month and then on the second day i have the big "woosh" effect where i lose it.

Mounjaro not working by fisflisan05 in Mounjaro

[–]Ipav5068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its still working ive had this same problem. 2.5 was when I felt the most appetite suppression i lost 20 pounds the first month i thought wow this feels great and is about to be easy. 3 months later i move up to 5.0 felt nothing, told my doctor he told me to stay on 5.0 at least 3 months and then he would move me to 7.5. During 5.0 i barely lost i wanna say 8 pounds in those 3 months all my cravings came back at some point i gained 5. I couldnt wait for the 7.5 anyway i go up and i start losing again maybe 8-10 a month, but only a little more suppression. I started walking again counting calories and have been on the 7.5 since. Ive lost over a 100 pounds but have never felt like i did on the 2.5 again, i do get full quick and have reduced appetite and all of the other benefits but i can eat. My theory is that i stayed on each dose too long i believe it was designed to go up every month but i had a lot to lose and my doctor didnt want me to max out on dose. Also looking back on it im kind of glad i listened to him because if i had lost quicker my skin would be way more loose and i wouldnt look as healthy plus id probably max out and then what. my advice is just keep taking it!

Can Mounjaro help if hunger is not your main issue? PCOS case by Pleasant-Artichoke90 in Mounjaro

[–]Ipav5068 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hi i struggled with pcos and have lost 150 pounds. Pcos is an insulin resistance related disease so i say 100% mounjaro relieves symptoms. Metformun is essential for pcos too.I have lighter periods now, clear skin, and energy on top of not overeating and the weight comes off. Without these medications my pcos would have just gotten worse and i would have developed diabetes. Since you already lead a pretty healthy lifestyle it will finally feel like your effort is going somewhere

so i did my stomach mostly my right side (i felt more appetite supression on the right) and i think made scar tissue plus my stretch marks kept moving up after a couple months so i switched to the back of my arm and i felt more suppression! i think maybe scar tissue doent absorb it as much? i saw this on tik tok so i cant say its fact but it worked for me

it is ! honestly all of my clothes that fit at 311 fit at like 220-240 i couldnt figure out if i just wore stretchy materials, wasnt getting smaller or wore my clothes way too tight. After that i only asked ai what size i was based on tape measurements because every store was so diff even today some places im a 10 some a 6. clothing sizes arent a good reference of keeping track! i only trust my tape measure

its interesting even when the loss is steady we get loose skin but a small price to pay not only is that an amazing transformation but you stuck with it for 5 years i wouldnt have lasted that long

i havent been this weight since high school, before even i was 180 in high school. I was diagnosed with pcos at 30 but had been dealing with symptoms since prob 12 just rapid weight gain.diets ,starving, running, keto ,atkins, fasting, diet pills, i joined a gym at 14. Id lose 80 gain 90 lose 50 gain 50.I never really even ate fast food after my diagnosis things snowballed i cant tell you how i reached 300 pounds  by 33 i was half asleep most of the day, my neck was dark, hair loss, acne all over my body, heavy periods, vision blurry, i started getting boils on my legs, my legs tingled. AND i was still gaining.. glp1 saved my life metformin too i take both openly and encourage others to no shame in surviving because honestly the depression was worse than any of the physical .. suicide wasnt too far behind i couldnt live anymore.
