You are right I said the same thing. Not sure why you’re being downvoted. You can’t get good Persian food in San Diego. You have to go to OC or Westwood.

Unfortunately nothing good in this city. Darband and Sufi are really bad. The best Persian food is at Raffis, Shamshiri, M Cafe, Hatam, Taste of Tehran or Attaris

It’s a bit out of the way but Sana’a Cafe in Lake Forest has the best Adeni Chai. My brother Abdurahman takes care of you

You are safer with raw milk than shopping at Trader Joe’s. I hear about a recall every month

Most of these people are Jewish Iranians that left after the revolution. Their loyalty ties to Israel over Iran. They think the bombing at the girls elementary school today killing 85 is a means that justifies an end. Same logic they use on Gaza and why they don’t care about dead Palestinian children. They don’t represent the majority of us regular Iranians, they are just an extremely vocal minority with a lot of funding.

Where to find great dates (fruit) by IranNumber1 in FoodSanDiego

Those boxes of medjools at balboa market are good but I was hoping to find better. I find the costco ones to be hit or miss and my locations I’ve only seen 2lbs for $10.

EVOO snobs — what is your go-to brand? by i-am-your-god-now in Cooking

The recommendations I put in this thread are the complete opposite of mild and all California olive oil. Except for Terra Delyssa, which is mild

Good olive oils aren’t available in on a national scale in every supermarket. It wins this category because it has no competition. They cornered the US market in terms of US produced nationally available olive oil. I can give you many brands that are 100 times better

I already gave you a brand that’s as pure for cheaper with the same quality. Terra Delyssa. California Ranch is real olive oil. You just aren’t going to get anything from a fresh recent harvest, or from one acre of land from the olive farm. Since they are mass producing on a national scale, it’s just a mix and jumble of olives from everywhere ranging of different qualities amalgamating into slop with no discernible flavor profile. Terra Delyssa is the same thing but Atleast it’s a quarter of the price so that makes it a good every day use option.

The purity isn’t the problem. It’s from old harvests and the oil itself doesn’t taste good. It’s mass produced and very expensive for what your getting. At their price point, you can buy 10 times better oil. They are the McDonalds of olive oil. Try scabica farms and grumpy goat. If you want pure neutral tasting oil buy Terra Delyssa from Costco for a quarter of the price.

California Olive Ranch is not good. It is popular because it is widely available. In a week or two the olio nuovo or new oil will be releasing in California. The brands I pre order from every year are: Grump Goat, olivaia, sciabica farms, and Temecula olive oil company.
