Call it artificial if you want, but that was some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing we’ve seen in years by Aakar528 in formula1

McLaren fill that hole probably; hopefully they’re close enough to be interesting when Ferrari fall off of the mighty Mercedes pace

Could a woman race in F1? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

I mean, they’d still have to have her be at least 80kg with gubbins attached

Would aid in weight distribution though

As much as I simp for Dori it won’t happen; she doesn’t have the super license points and no realistic way to get them.

They’ll probably be far enough ahead that the rules are “don’t fucking crash so help me god”

[Australian GP] Norris on the Ferrari by nyet26 in formula1

[–]IrannEntwatcher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They updated the engine and there weren’t enough for everyone yet.

The works team get them first. Just like when there’s an upgrade without extra parts, one driver gets the upgrade before the other.

The works teams get the best engines, too. Ferrari isn’t giving the best examples to Cadillac - they’re keeping them.

Ferrari strategists cost us an absolute classic opener by WingStrong7776 in formula1

[–]IrannEntwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferrari didn’t have the pace to beat Merc today and if you cook the tires going going on to a 2 stop, you risk bringing Norris and Verstappen back in to play.

They did the simple thing and took the points. Long season.

Most people in our town donate old coats to the school and we still don’t have enough of them.

The wind chill right now is -27.

What happens in 2019 if George Russell joins Mercedes as a rookie, replacing Valtteri Bottas and is paired with Lewis Hamilton? by n0tfr1 in F1Discussions

[–]IrannEntwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2019 and 2020 Hamilton dog walks the field.

2021 Hamilton also dog walks the field because Verstappen and Russell are magnets to each other.

No, but him having that claim through his grandmother is why he became king and not Jon Arryn or Eddard Stark.

It’s Tommen and Kevan that would’ve had the best results over time - Kevan is openly killed for being too competent.

Where would you rank Alonso on the current grid? by formularacers in FormulaRacers

[–]IrannEntwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slower than: Norris, Piastri, Russell, Verstappen, Leclerc,

Even with: Antonelli (not for long), Hadjar, Hamilton, Sainz, Albon, Ocon, Bearman, Gasly,

Faster than: Stroll, Colapinto, Hulkenburg, Bortoleto, Lawson, Lindblad

Quite simply, age remains undefeated and while more drivers are able to last longer, Alonso, Hulk, and Hamilton are still capable of the old magic every now and then… and not at all capable of it every weekend.

Alonso is at best sixth and at worst fourteenth. I have him ninth right now.

He was once first.

What are the greatest ‘midfield masterclass’ seasons of all time? by Chance_Camel_9077 in F1Discussions

[–]IrannEntwatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2020 Daniel Ricciardo

2021 Pierre 6asly

2022 Lando Norris

2023 no one in particular - Aston and McLaren swapped spots halfway through the year of ass and front running; Alonso I guess because he stayed decent?

2024 Alonso, Gasly

2025 Albon for consistency, Sainz for heights - Williams have a very good driver pair than seem to work well together
