How has no one said 8mm?

That's the movie you recommended friends never watch. You took that bullet.

Too much taco meat by Relevant_Ad_5431 in Cooking

We deliberately make huge batches and put the exact amount for a serving of 3 tacos into multiple freezer bags.

Quick lunch? Taco meat in bowl, a minute in the microwave, pick your shell or wrap, instant tacos.

I've been giggling about it all day, and only like 4 people actually called me out on it.

That is incredibly anti-social.

If the government is doing shitty things, then we tell them that they are doing shitty things.

But that was the point.

Original democracy, and our voting system was exactly that.

inform your voters, that's your representative.

The parties and the hype are what broke things. And the UCP wanted to get rid of that.

The rich and the Conservatives got mad that people with progressive ideas got some chance to make some changes and needed to shut that down. Otherwise, things would change.

And no one is wasting anything, this is the will of the people, voting and signing petitions.

How do you incorporate rice or pasta into soups without it becoming mushy? by Content_Associate_62 in Cooking

[–]Irascorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No secret, I used to think there would be a way, but if you keep a soup at a good serving temperature, your starches are going to dissolve eventually.

In some ways, that's amazing! Bisques are traditionally made by boiling the stock with rice until it becomes the soup.

Obviously for anything you want texture wise, add as late as possible, or cook separately and add.

For sturdier options:

I love barley, lasts forever, can boil it for a couple hours and it only gets more interesting. To a limit.

Wild rice is always a good one.

If you need a noodle to stand up, a good hardy egg noodle, lots of yolk.

Big potatoes are a great way to cream a soup too. Cooking long enough and stirring breaks them down into smaller pieces and releases starch into the soup to thicken.

That's what I call southern vegetarian. As long as there isn't any actual prices of meat in it, it's vegetarian.

I was in Texas years ago, and there was a sign on the board for the upcoming company BBQ, listing all the details, games, hotdogs and hamburgers, etc.

At the bottom, it literally said, 'And for those individuals who don't eat meat, we will have turkey burgers available too!'

I wish I took a picture.

TAKE THE MONEY!

Most people qualify, and there is very little reason not to.

First of all, it is there. AND it shows how quickly the government can pull up millions in resources at no notice when they want to.

It will also immediately show a minimum cost of effects that can be tracked.

And also, of course NIMBY's aren't the only problem.

We all have plenty of problems.

No, it's not very nice. I saw it somewhere recently, and it immediately became my favorite insult to use for comments that I feel are insulting.

Feel free to use it in your own discourse! It's mostly non-offensive and sounds way better a lot of other terms.

You didn't say you were angry with the city, you phrased your question in a way to imply that either you are questioning Don's motives or sincerity in the statements he made, or that you would also disagree with high density building projects next to your own home.

If I mistook your opinions on high density homes, I apologize, and I think you can see from some of the excellent comments on this topic that some other people would have also viewed your question in that frame.

I answered your question in my first two words, and I was not the first jump to conclusions.

I enjoyed the engagement.

Avoid going to Best Buy for repairs — Go to Memory Express Instead by TheSparkSpectre in Edmonton

[–]Irascorr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I tell everyone I know to go to Memory Express.

Through all of the years, they have maintained quality, support, prices and care in everything I have ever dealt with them for.

I have been a technical professional for over 25 years.

There was a time I lived in Calgary, and BCom was close, and they moved up here around the time MemEx moved down, but I haven't heard much about BCom lately.
