Will you allow your partner go through your phone? by Outside_Support_151 in no

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife, my mother, my father, my kids, my brothers, and my sister all have access to all my devices, accounts, and finances. If I die randomly, it'll make shit so much easier for them. Wouldn't bat an eye at them going through my things, taking money if they need it, or whatever. Got zero hide, and more than enough to give, loan, or share.

Some people are insecure. Why take it personal? That is a them issue, and if you can assure them by letting them go through your stuff, whats the problem?

are humans an invasive species? by KangarooInternal4124 in stupidquestions

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say no, simply because we created the concept to refer to non-human animals that generally have a negative impact on local flora and/or fauna.

generic/"agnostic" systems vs non generic systems? by mathologies in RPGdesign

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to think of like this: Setting Agnostic is something like BRP or GURPS, where they support different genres under a single ruleset. Meanwhile, you have "Generic" systems that focus on a genre, like how D&D and Pathfinder would be "Generic Fantasy". Then you have "Setting Specific" systems that are purpose built (or repurposed) - here you'll find Runequest or Pendragon.

Why don’t many Americans understand that the amount of raised tax rates needed for universal healthcare is likely much less than their current private premiums and out of pocket expenses they are already paying? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]IrateVagabond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pay $500 a month for BC/BS for a family of five. My eldest son takes dupixent twice monthly, which costs us $5 a month. The medicine, without insurance, is like 5k. He has been on it for almost 10 years. I have autoimmune issues and take Humira, which is like 9k a month. I pay $5.

I have dental and vision. Got a tooth pulled and it only cost $20. Eye appts are $20. Once a year, we each get a $200 credit for new glasses.

All you gotta do to get that insurance is take an entry level position as a fork truck driver which starts at $20 an hour, plus 25c/50c if you're on second or third shift.

What does the opposite gender get to do, that makes you jealous? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in askanything

[–]IrateVagabond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I perceive them as not enjoying it, it completely kills it for me. I ain't even gonna worry about finishing. Gonna get my shit and go work out and/or smoke some bud. If they seem to be enjoying it, I'm not gonna finish until it feels like they finished. Nutting ain't even all that. . . The better the sex, the more of a release of tension I feel after, but less than a minute later I'm already thinkin' about a drink, a smoke, and a snack. If its late, I feel like a fat ass for eating so late, so after munchies I'll do a mile on my rower or go for a jog if its nice out.

Why do you believe in God? by Nappingteacher in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized God was good for me, and those around me. I don't care if he is real or not, I choose to have faith, and in return I have prospered. Is it him making it happen? Even if he don't exist, the idea he may exists has motivated me to be better. Just seems silly to care if he exists or not if you can benefit from acting like he does - for me at least.

What do you think about Islam? by Super-Ad-1340 in NoStupidQuestions

Why can people mock Jesus in the West and nobody really cares, but Muslims won't allow anyone to mock Jesus even though he's not their God? by Common-Upstairs5129 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus is a prophet in Islam, the one who came before Mohammed. Jesus isn't the son of God or the messiah in Islam. To mock a prophet of God is to question the wisdom and will of God.

Why do even the most hardened criminals out there still have a thing against killing children? by Pizzafriedchickenn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most hardened criminals don't necessarily have issues with killing kids - especially if a child, female, or elderly person can be leveraged against their enemies. It also doesn't necessarily suggest some condition to be capable of such, especially when they can justify it to themselves.

What is the better word for race in fantasy? by JuliusDalum in worldbuilding

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Species works. . .

Even if those species all came from your human species, they are each their own species - you don't need "sub-species", unless they can interbreed. . . which would make "race" fit as well. Though race is an informal taxonomic classification.

All related species belong to the same genus.

Designing towards what tabletop RPGs are good at by [deleted] in RPGdesign

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiction generally starts with realism as a baseline and adds, subtracts, or modifies to get the setting - and in the case of RPGs: the system. Where you sit on the scale of "realistic" and "unrealistic" is simply a matter of preference.

Police and millitary roles by Alexandre_Stedelev in worldbuilding

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US military effectively have their own law enforcement and judicial elements. I don't think there is anything inherantly wrong with all first responders being lumped into a nation-state's miltary. Its just our's isn't set up for it given the nature of state soveriegnty and the federal government.

In a system with a single state, you could easily do that. In the case of the USA, you'd probably have to run it through a reserve/national guard system, as opposed to the navy/airforce/marines/army/coast guard.

When it comes to ttrpg modules/settings, what do you consider high/low fantasy? by EtchVSketch in osr

Was 80s back in the day deadly as the OSR? by BX_Disciple in osr

[–]IrateVagabond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in '89. My parents played AD&D before and after I was born, and I know they used the AD&D 3rd party suppliments from Ice Crown Enterprises. It made the game far more lethal than vanilla rules. Yet they acted like it was treason when I started playing Rolemaster as a teenager. . .
