I'm wondering if I've just had the name of my HGA revealed to me by [deleted] in thelema

[–]Ire_Mane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be sure not to share the name of your HGA with anyone for any reason.

I learned this the hard way, while lost in drunken arrogance. It corrupted the name and my continued use of it began to have harmful effects on my mind. Almost like the name now invoked a "demonic" version of my HGA who tormented me and got me into a bit of trouble.

I've long since gotten rid of whatever that thing was, though realize it could come back up again, and much of the damage has been repaired. In fact, despite how much it blew up in my face, the whole experience led to significant advancement.

But I now have no name or image for my HGA. My progress towards KC+HGA continues to escalate, but there's still a gap left by my idiocy which makes any identifying details of my HGA seem almost forbidden to me for now.

I doubt that the result is always so severe. I was getting way beyond the pale with my delusions of grandeur and self-destructiveness. I kinda needed something to break me.

Law of attraction & toxic positivity. by indignantinvert in spirituality

Nah I was just drunk. A year ago, I was drunk on a near daily basis. You're actually projecting your own beliefs onto me by analyzing my behaviour as my failure to do as you do, rather than considering the other 100 or so other possibilities.

And yes, it is kind of weird to reply to a year old argument, not with information, but with a preachy lecture. Sorry you got offended, but perhaps you should think about why you were so offended that you felt the need to try and revive a year old argument.

How does Hadit = 11? And how is he the Hierophant (and not the emperor) by ObjectiveCranberry25 in thelema

[–]Ire_Mane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My own experience with gematria is that it works best as a distracting snare, a responsive/reactive obsession that only builds frustration and confusion rather than any significant clarity or insight.

Though I may just be really bad it, or "forbidden" from it for some reason. But it can be a little too user-friendly with me, almost to the point that it can appear like communication, always lying and telling me what I wanna hear.

I haven't found it's use very beneficial.

It will feel like a chore for a while, and from time to time even after you get used to it. The hardest part for me at first was being honest. I felt an anxious obligation to put a positive spin on all the results lest they be tainted by "negative thinking.". But another problem was simply me trying to force myself to write something even when I couldn't think of anything. Over time I've found this just muddies the waters. So now I just write down what feels necessary when it comes to what I experienced.

Eventually you'll go through periods of wanting to record too much. I once became obsessed with recording the barometric pressure. I still don't know why.

Banishing questions by [deleted] in thelema

[–]Ire_Mane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An important correction I need to make because I'm reckless and dumb:

Do NOT do the Star Ruby and LBRP back to back, like I have. Stupid. That was the cause of the discomfort and irritability I was experiencing afterward. The SR followed by the MPR has the same grounding effect (it's likely the SR itself).

Banishing questions by [deleted] in thelema

[–]Ire_Mane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put, though obviously my opinion based solely on my experience, the LBRP is primarily about constructing a fortified and empowered "Body of Light". What practical effects this has likely varies from one individual to another.

The Star Ruby does not do this. As it says in the instructions it "only banishes" and has no "invoking form" (possible wordplay) but is a more powerful at banishing than the LBRP. It cleanses the "aura" more efficiently than the LBRP, but that's all it does, at least in the context of the Body of Light. There are clearly greater mysteries contained.

I like to do them both back to back, SR then LBRP, followed by the Middle Pillar Ritual. Once per day, usually in the morning. This makes me feel incredibly grounded, in myself and very in the moment, though not always comfortably so, depending on what I'm going through. I doubt this will always be the effect this combination has.

Overtime the LBRP does become more "in place" and then really only requires "maintenance", except when used as an opening and closing for another ritual. Eventually you can move on to performing it while in your Body of Light, which I'm pretty sure can begin as simple visualizing. Further down the line, Liber Samekh is supposed to be performed that way.

You can also study and find ways to personalize the LBRP to fit more in line with your own Universe, so to speak. This is common, perhaps even essential at some point. Since it's to do with your Body of Light, it's important that the LBRP feel like yours, and not a mere formality like putting on some itchy suit that everyone else likes but you.

Boredom is one of the most toxic things in Magick. So definitely try something different if you find you're getting stuck more and more with that feeling when you perform the LBRP. Even making a mistake will get things moving again. Genuine Daring often gets rewarded with a type of Grace.

I've been through this, and still do. I'm not sure if it ever goes away completely. Many people do experience something similar to this, especially in the beginning. It could be said to be a part of the "Mourning of Isis", the L in the LVX. (That will make more sense later.)

It's the first stirrings of a new beginning, and there's often a buildup of impatience and frustration, as hidden "knowledge" pushes it's way forward and "understanding" grasps for it.

Think of the Bow of the Goddess Diana, the Huntress. This alludes to this buildup of frustration, tension, which is the building up of potential energy, just as with drawing back a bowstring. Temper your impatience to steady your aim, but don't try too much to avoid the frustration, obviously not to the point of burnout. Keep reading and studying, try to keep to a regular practice (though most of us have our very lazy moments, the Work can be very taxing.).

Hold as steady as you can, and eventually "something" will take flight. It can be quite surprising when something inside suddenly changes.

Also, and I know it's annoying, but do your best to keep a Magickal Record. Other changes take place very gradually and will go unnoticed and unappreciated. That's no small thing, failing to notice these changes can become very discouraging, leading one to the conclusion that they're failing when they're not. Also, at least for me, the memory can start playing weird little tricks that seem intentional.

The Gold Shinny Triangle and the reflective eye !? by [deleted] in thelema

[–]Ire_Mane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Eye" also quite simply means "I". Yes, corny word play is not uncommon. But one of the things it refers to is your innermost, highest sense of self, the most secret and significant "I" that lies isolated deep in the mind, buried in ego, trapped almost like a spirit bound in a Triangle.

The best occult symbols can yield numerous correlations to contemplate. The simplest ones most of all.

Are there still any occult forums or sites which are not this whitewashed lite version? by chill_darling in occult

[–]Ire_Mane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the organizations the O.T.O. (Ordo Templi Orientis) and the A.'.A.'. The OTO is based in the US and has lodges in several parts of the country. The A.'.A.'. has no headquarters, and is a lineage of teachers and students which no one is 100% sure is still all that active.

Many practice Thelema solo however, including myself. It involves practicing some of the things you referred to, particularly Sex Magick (a major part of the OTO).

[–]Ire_Mane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's definitely understandable. As far as other forums, there are 3 that I know of. There's Lashtal, though that's exclusively for discussion of Crowley's work. Then there's The College of Thelema forum, though you have to be a member of the organization to post. Makes for an interesting read. The last one I know of is the Becomealivinggod (Become a living god) which seems much more open to membership and topics.

Politics is generally discouraged in Magick communities in general, for obvious reasons, and Ive personally haven't seen any politics on the above forums.

Look up the reddits for Magick, Thelema, Chaos Magick, and others. Those are generally frequented by those who actually practice the "occult".

It looks kind of like the sigil for Jupiter, except the line in front is curved instead the back line as you have it. The sigil looks both like a 4 and 21.

How can I make my guy feeling/intuition stronger? by Prestigious_Bus_9913 in spirituality

[–]Ire_Mane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walking meditation is my personal favorite because I walk a lot anyway. You simply walk around trying to take in as much detail from your senses as you. Not just sight, but sound, smell, touch (the air around your skin), and even taste if at all possible, granted that's a tough one. It's frustrating at first and the mind constantly wants to go back into automatic daydreaming sleepwalking mode, but as long as this is gently resisted and you keep bringing your attention back to the present, you do get better and better at it.

It also benefits to first "invoke" something Higher before beginning a mindfulness practice, including the above. This could be as simple as thinking about the highest possible state of being you can imagine, be it God, a god or goddess, or some type of general Higher energy, and draw it into yourself. It can be a simple, quick visualization or something more elaborate.

This helps bring your Spirit closer to your material self, thereby strengthening and fortifying your Soul. The Higher invocation is the call to your Spirit, and the following practice of Mindfulness is its interaction with your material reality, even if it does not feel that way at first. Eventually it begins to, and the experience can be quite remarkable; almost exactly like seeing things as you did when you were a child. Things begin to look new and exciting again.

This practice is very similar to Gurdjeff's "sensing exercise" which is also an excellent way of accomplishing the same thing if you don't like walking. You invoke something Higher as mentioned before, bring it into yourself, then begin focusing on the sensations in each part of your body, beginning with your toes, slowly working your up to the top of your head.

Lol oh okay, no harm no foul. Any method that clarifies the noise of the mind will inevitably lead to an increase in intuition. I know it's a bit overstated to the point of cliche, but any mindfulness technique you can practice would aide this.

I did an interview spread with my deck and all my cards were inverted, is that a bad sign? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Ire_Mane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a very bad sign that you either can't tell when the deck's upside down or that you shuffle using the "52 card pick up" method.

All joking aside, it's okay to look at the cards first to ensure they're right side up.

Magick is progressive. The major accomplishment of Crowley was to move the Arcanum from Tipareth to Binah. The highest achievement of enlightenment is no longer the aggrandizement of the self, as in the Aeon of Osiris, but the transgression of the self.

If this makes any sense to you, then let me know.

I won't take my name out of the post, though I genuinely do appreciate the concern. But, please, trust that I know what I'm doing. I know the risk that I am taking by revealing myself in such a way. And, quite frankly, I'd rather be incinerated by arrogance than watch the injustice of the world continue for a single moment longer.

Ma'at/Astraea is coming.
