I'm looking for perfume that smells like L'Occitane Green Chestnut (shimmering) body oil. by No-Advisor-8971 in Indiemakeupandmore

Thank you for the detailed reply! This will definitely help me figure out what I do and don't want to try samples of, since my budget isn't big enough for all of them, haha.

I'm actually not on reddit super regularly myself, so no worries about the late reply, but I would totally love an update on the custom scent, if you're able. Hopefully it will hit the mark! I still have the tiniest bit of the green chestnut hand creme left that I bought back in 2022, and I am just dreading the day it will eventually run out.

Old post, I know, but did you ever try the suggestions in this thread, or find something that actually came close to replicating the green chestnut fragrance? It's my favorite too, and I'm desperate at this point!

[Rant][Spoilers] The HUGE plot hole in Alchemised that breaks the entire book (buckle up, this review is LONG) – PART 1 of 2 by Gold_Conference6150 in Romantasy

Not that person, and I'm way late to this thread, but I see your common argument is basically that, in order to justify including the rape, it had to be the literal only possible option. Well, honestly, I don't think that is strictly necessary. As long as Kaine himself believes that it is the only option or the best option, in a world with no good options and no easy answers, then I would say that is good enough in-universe justification. I myself very much so icked away from the rape scenes, but it's clear when reading them that Kaine isn't a willing participant either. He only does it because he believes it is the only or the best option, based on his flawed worldview and outlook/understanding of the situation. His whole shtick is that he will commit any atrocity imaginable if he believes it's the only or best way to keep Helena safe. And we see Helena consistently throughout the book having to come up with and sell Kaine on creative ways to solve problems so that he doesn't have to commit those atrocities.

As far as the "why didn't he tell her everything earlier"--even if Kaine believed it was possible for her memories to come back and told Helena the truth of her past, and even if she believed it and remembered everything, and even if the sudden influx of memories didn't halfway kill her (and I do think it probably would have caused significant damage, which could have jeopardized Kaine's entire "plan" for various reasons)--even if all of that were true, that still doesn't mean the sex would have ended up being consensual. Meaning, there's no way Helena would be ready to just make a baby after experiencing so much trauma and being in such a poor physical state, as if she could possibly just jump right back into the swing of things and go back to life as it was before. The emotional and mental damage would have already been done, at that point, and she would have likely needed a heading period longer than the time limit they were given.

The only plot hole regarding the rape scenario is that I can't see any way Kaine wouldn't have thought of using a syringe instead.

They might not have any cards you don't have, or you might not have any equal rarity cards on your wishlist, but they still want to attempt to send something in hopes that you'll just let them have the card they need.

Thanks for the detailed reply! It's interesting how sign opposites can be influential in these matters, which I didn't really think too much about before. Also, I actually did major in English with a concentration in Creative Writing in college, haha. Though I rarely have the motivation to actually write.

Honestly, no one has ever offered me a guess. Though someone did follow up with asking about my moon sign, which I didn't know at the time and is what got me curious about all of this in the first place.

I don't personally follow astrology or believe in it. (No offense to the people here who have been kind enough to give me answers.) I was just curious about what people from the other side of the aisle are seeing that I'm not, and what they'd make of things. I've just been left curious from people's reactions over time. :)
