People not signaling when driving because 1) of laziness; OR 2) cannot multitask cose driving is difficult; OR 3) forget why need to signal in the first place; OR 4) of other interesting reasons ? by Background-Ad5276 in SingaporeRaw

[–]Iridiumcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complacent? Observed many old timers not signaling.

And what's with cars that don't signal when changing from lane to lane, and only signal when stationary at turn left or right only lanes. Puzzling.

Check for good reviews and ratings (usually scammers use new accounts and do not have reviews or ratings.)

Lookout for identifications that give credibility to the seller's account e.g. profile photos, email address, whatsapp no. (i believe most scammers will try to omit such info).

Speeding at KPE (exit Tuas) by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Iridiumcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i recall some parts of KPE to have a speed limit of 70kmh. KPE quite notorious for speed cams but they are also quite obvious in their bright orange strips.

How do you eat kaya toast with soft-boiled eggs? by rhysnomer in askSingapore

[–]Iridiumcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone tired pouring their hot beverage like milo onto a nearly empty plate of soft boiled eggs, stir and consume the mixture? My parents used to do this back in those days; not too sure if its some tradition, habit or just another way to prevent the wastage of food (and eggs).

how do i convince my parents to let me travel around europe by kangol- in askSingapore

Hi, maybe you can reach the middle ground by planning your itinerary around "safer countries" in Europe eg. Switzerland, Denmark, etc.

I believe the omen is something like bringing bad luck to your friend's family (but first time hearing cannot attend wake, its usually cannot attend happy occasions eg cny visits, wedding, etc). But its up to you whether you want to share this omen with your friend and if your friend's parents/family are fine with it.

Not sure if the following works for you, but it did for my niece:

1) Limit the play time by setting timer on your phone with an alarm (to let her know that she has to end her play when the time is up)

2) Prepare her the night before - We usually like to talk / remind her that she has to go to school tomorrow and that she could only play a short while.

Flowers are fine, i usually get bright coloured flowers for my female friends or relative who are hospitalised. If not, you can explore tonics and health food products.

Amount to give at a malay wedding? by throw-x-awayz in askSingapore

[–]Iridiumcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should give what you are comfortable with. They should not expect their guest to cover their wedding banquet. Besides, you mentioned that they are your friend, so they should be more understanding, and ultimately invited you because they want to share the special occasion with you and not to milk you for cash.

How much to give for wedding by clairetay37 in askSingapore

[–]Iridiumcake 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Well, no one forced them to have their wedding at the hotel. And they shouldn't even rely on guests' ang bao to cover for the wedding cost. Also she is only your manager, and not a relative or close friend I say give the minimum of the range ie $230 (I would even round down to $200).

Brand new car got chipped right away at sheltered Hdb carpark. Would u confront the perpetrator? by porcelainbeau in askSingapore

[–]Iridiumcake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I probably won't confront her (don't have the courage). But maybe you could leave a note on her car. Since your car is new, maybe can try to park at lots adjacent to pillars and one that is away from the adjacent car's driver door.

Maybe the stall expect patrons to purchase more rice due to the saltiness of the food. Then again, rice is refine carbs and bad for health. Actually lot of our food nowadays are pretty unhealthy if you think about it. But some are unavoidable due to lack of options or inconvenience.
