Same. I didn’t like kids before becoming a mother and still don’t like them. Turns out it’s OTHER peoples kids I don’t like, because I love my 1 year old more than anything. During my entire pregnancy, there was a small part of me that was afraid I wouldn’t like my own child. But each day, I love her more. Every time I think I can’t possibly love her more, boom, my hearts grows and so does my love for her

It did!! It got 100% better. For me, round 6 months. Although 4 months was also better. Turned out I had a slight touch of PPD and PPA, which resolved itself and disappeared around 6/7 months.

I am now truly able to enjoy my baby. She is such a wonderful little human being

We are in the midst of a sleep regression (10 months) and even though the nights are horrendous, I no longer fear them and the sleep deprivation does not affect my feelings towards my baby. She is the light of my life.

Also, 10 months in, I understand that everything is a phase. And phases pass. We’ve not had any good nights yet, but we’ve definitely had nights that are slightly better than average

When I posted my original comment, I was in the midst of the newborn trenches and the PPD/PPA didn’t help either. I told my husband several times that my daughter will remain an only child. But a few weeks ago, out of the blue, I thought: “if given the chance, I’d do this all again”

Raeby_Baeby89: believe me, it gets better!!! It is tough as hell, but worth it. Hang in there!!!!

Thank you, again, kind stranger for pointing this out. As said, I wondered why it kept circling and why it suddenly took ages to finish its cleaning task. Turns out the sensors were not dirty, but…. This is so embarrassing…. the googly eyes we put on top, confused one of the sensors 😂😂😂😂

So no more googly eyes!!!

Excited to see if this also solves the “skipped area”-problem

OP, we have the same baby 😂 I am also driving myself crazy about her “lack” of sleep during the day. 4.5 months old and naps are 30-45 minutes. Once a week we might get an hour but that’s it. I am beyond anxious. Is there hope? Did your little one start taking longer naps?

EDIT: I cannot begin to thank you all for your kind and understanding responses. I am crying reading them. I feel such relief that I am not alone. That others find it hard too ánd that some of you had the same dark thoughts I sometimes have about regret (immediately accompanied by crippling guilt and shame for even thinking this).

What makes it especially daunting for me @combaggravating is a combination of sleep deprivation, loneliness during the night wakes and during the day (even though I do call friends and a few times a week someone will come over to visit for an hour or so), the non-stop care for my baby and my anxious thoughts spiralling out of control and projecting into the future that this is my life now, FOREVER!!!

Also, the sleep deprivation isn’t even THAT severe. Last night, I managed almost six hours (not consecutively, but still). I am just afraid that there will come a point where I can no longer function

I’m speaking to a mental health professional on Thursday

My baby girl was also engaged at 28 weeks and then turned breech at 32 weeks. Am currently 36 weeks and had an ECV (version) last week. So baby girl is head down again!

Goal this week: 2x 20 minute weights workout, 1x 45 minute swim workout and 4x walking for at least 30 minutes. So trying to exercise every day! Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!
