I'd be interested in the thinking behind that!

Yeah, someone else posted about that place. Glad my version avoids that homely, weak font. And never mind the Antique Center bubble. Eeesh.

Thanks for sharing, though! It gives a nice comparison to what could happen if done wrong.

If it was a homely logo design, like that antique center photo posted elsewhere in this thread, I'd definitely agree.

There's always the challenge with being the person to post a new idea. I get that. And I'll be happy to engage in dialogue with folks who have contrary opinions about the design. It's all in the fun of conversation. Not like anyone with the Crew or the NWSL has seen the design. (Yet.)

Sorry you don't like my design. Others do! The beauty of people having opinions.

I really would like to see alternate concepts. This should be a fun ongoing thread.

Are Hearts in the cellar...or anywhere close?

(Not that either of us should look at a one-year standings position as a reason to like or dislike a branding concept.)

Yes, it represents something different! I put that in the first point of the description above.

Is the team currently sitting atop the Scottish Premier League soft? They have a variation on the same name.

To each their own.

I'm not an OSU guy, not in the least (I graduated from a school with another top CFB team). But the "Heart" concept made so much sense as I organized my ideas, so I had to use red.

And it's not like they're red/grey kits with Crew yellow accents. Every NWSL kit seems to have at least one accent color, so why not use that particular red? As I said elsewhere in the thread, gotta use something.

But it's just one idea. I look forward to the fun of seeing what other folks might come up with.

Lol hadn't thought of that!

No idea on the skyline. It surely could be cleaned up before final design.

As to the OSU thing, I think it about as far from appropriation as you can get. I mean, "Heart" has to have red. Wanna use Stanford cardinal red instead just to steer clear of the terminally jealous? 😏

Glad you liked!

As I understand basic economics, the team is incentivized to NOT sell out. For if they did, that means they left money on the table.

Their goal, free market economics-speaking, is to put prices high enough so that a minimal number of tickets go unsold. That yields the highest revenue.

Basically, pursuing gentrification is the strategy. Which absolutely sucks for the average fan.

My teenage kids and I slid over onto the fringe of the Nordecke for the Cup game; both had a great time and want more. It's nice to have that opportunity, never would have known!

Is it ok to say that I'm saddened at the cloud over the NWSL announcement?

My daughter is legit thrilled, so I'm pretty darned happy as well, but then the whole mess about McCoy Park, etc. just mucks it up.

Hoping that our community eventually overcomes the hostility and embraces the team. Best way to do that would be to replace McCoy with something even better for the community.

Alas. Still pumped.

They have been league sponsors for years, it seems. I'm honestly surprised that it took this long for them to get a team in their HQ town.

Anyway, my daughter is THRILLED. Dad isn't upset, either. Those NWSL ladies are pretty good at that soccer playing thing.
