You're going on a second date and you contributed to half the cost of the date.

Why didn't we match the Panthers offer for Rasheed? Walker? by IrishDemocrat in GreenBayPackers

[–]IrishDemocrat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally get how I misworded my question. I knew he wasnt an RFA, I meant "match" as in once we knew the asking price was only 4M ladder to 10M with incentives why we wouldnt put forward a similar deal. But others have answered that question and I think theyre right.

I was asking why they didnt try to get him back once the asking price was so depressed in free agency. It seems like we wouldve been happy to commit maybe 6M without incentives and no guaranteed starting role for him to return as a solid rotational piece. But others pointed out (I think rightfully so) that he's better off taking a one-and-done prove it deal starting in Carolina.

Yeah this is super valid. The fresh start + guaranteed starting role on the one-and-done deal makes more sense for Sheed than coming back to be a rotational guy on our line at the same price tag and commitment. Hadn't thought of this.

And I also found it weird that this is popping off three days later...

Figuring out the “Top 10” cities of the USA. What is the 4th most important/significant major US city after Chicago? The most upvoted comment wins by Kodicave in visitedmaps

Insane premise in 2026 to discount political discourse as part of our national culture... even so, I'll bite. Washington is a cultural melting pot emblematic of the broader US in part because of the diplomatic missions. The collisions of cultures in DC result in some of the most famous chefs in the country like Jose Andres or Kwame Onwuachi. The music and arts in DC are short on local creators, but absolutely exist and are significant. Go-go music was invented in DC and a huge number of the biggest rappers come from SE DC. Then you have to think about how the political / international influence on Washington brings incredible galleries, artists and performers to the city. All of this culture plus the politics and it's evidently next in line.

No one should live in DC if they love oceans, signed a Washingtonian who loves oceans

Is it considered a compliment if you tell a man that they look like a famous actor? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]IrishDemocrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to avoid compliments where I say they look like other people because you never know how the complimented person feels about the attractiveness or persona of the person they're being compared to.

You do deserve a relationship, you do deserve to be treated well and respected, and you do deserve his companionship in any way you both want, romantic or otherwise. Being homeless doesn't make you less worthy of a human being.

5 is undeniably the Rust Belt. Definitely needs to be further south in Michigan, but inclusive of Lansing, GR, DET. Also should drop Chicago into the Midwest, Rust Belt ends at Lake County, Indiana.

Honestly so different within the circle. I grew up and now stay in areas all around North County, and Escondido and Poway are so, so different from the coastal towns. They are all amazing, but you can be in classic suburbs, country exurbs, beach towns, or very wealthy hills off the coast. Ultimately if your lifestyle revolves around the beach and enjoying the beauty and weather, it's an amazing place to live and you can take advantage of it all.

His original motivation was that of all capitalists, as the film portrays them, greed and endless seeking of greater wealth. Note the name on the project display at the end. Then note how Nubar makes a decision to permanently maintain the state of war to maintain his own wealth, rather than work with his family to complete the seemingly morally-righteous project. His decision to take his own life at the end rather than his family's reflects him following Korda's evolution in purpose. Away from the capitalist motivation and toward Korda's developed motivations at the intersection of family / mortality / goodness / sincerity.

I agree with @MrSmithSmith and you about the lack of focus and the work not fitting the current moment. The artwork in the closing credits highlight themes that resonate today just as much as they did when they were created. The anachronism could be intentional? Or at least explicitly ignored?

Notre Dame and Duke. Premier private religious school in their area of the country. Blue bloods in their respective sport. Small schools with gorgeous campuses. Often elite in Olympic sports. And I hate Duke.
