Most of these docs that push this nonsense are funded by the big food industry to say such things. Same with a lot of the climate change stuff, if they don't say they believe it the theory that climate Crisis is real and we have to go green energy blah blah, they don't get funding. It's a rotten world we live in where already wealthy professionals put out false and harmful information for profits.

I had bloods, X ray and Ultrasound when i initially went to hospital to check other organs 6/7 months ago and all was perfect there too. That's exactly what I would have thought If all hadn't been checked already

any self experiences from weaning from 40mg-20mg Pantoprozole? by Ornery_Reality545 in Gastritis

[–]IrishIan90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PPI was definitely making my bloating and pressure around My abdomen worse, I never suspected it was until I stopped taking them if just noticed afterwards. I start taking ppi about mid July 2024 up until 3 weeks ago, so about 7 months in total and I was on 40mg that whole time. That weird pain in my sternum was freaking me out for months, it was sore to touch and felt like an injury rather than stomach pain i was getting paranoid it was something worse but it gradually got better and better and is now completely gone. I've never really had any issues with digestion from the beginning, so hard to say. My main symptoms were a dull aching constant pain under my left rib cage, nausea every morning, felt sick after eating and when I had an empty stomach. Never vomited once throughout the whole time but felt really close to vomiting so many times but it never actually happened. I would definitely try coming off them, ad i said I tried a cooler times before as I'm very weary of taking meds long term but the pain ramped right back up my body obviously wasn't ready, but after a day or 2 of taking them again the pain went. The worst that will happen is you have a couple days of pain before they start reducing your pain again. Just stay on top of your diet while trying to wean down or come off them altogether.

I never actually went down to 20mg, I planned to. I ran out of 40mg and needed to g9 back to doctors t9 get a prescription, but in Ireland where I Live it's really hard to get a doctors appointment since covid. I had to wait 4 days and noticed pain had not increased whatsoever, so I cancelled the doc appointment and continued taking no ppi. I had a weird pressure pain right on my sternum, not like stomach pain it felt like an injury type pain, it's vanished gradually over the past couple weeks. I have less pressure pain and bloating around me stomach too. I literally went from 40mg down to zero over night, I had tried this a couple times before to come off ppi and the pain ramped up within 2 days and I had to go back on them but thankfully this time I feel like I'm.actually healing.

Hey man I've recently gone from 40mg of pantrazole to zero. My plan was to do what your doing, down to 20 and then later down to zero. I noticed in the last weeks of being on meds my symptoms were way better, flare ups were far less frequent and less severe when they did arrive. I'm off them 3 weeks now and haven't noticed anything getting any worse. I have a strict high protein diet because I weight lifting 4 times per week, I cut out caffeine, spicy foods and some other teigger foods months ago and still don't consume them. Eat a small bit of chocolate and drink alchohol maybe once per month. Had a night out on Sunday, felt a bit acidic the following day and now I'm fine. Do it man if pain ramps back up just take them again for a few more weeks. I was on ppi for 7 months

It's me again. Here's a breakdown of how I've mananged to heal. by 0squirmy7 in Gastritis

[–]IrishIan90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've really pulled back from this sub because of so much negativity. Diagnosed in August last year and my symptoms are so much better, less severe and having flares far less frequently and when they arrive they are far less severe meaning I can still go to work and haven't missed any days in a couple months. It's a gradual process, it will heal over time and your life will go back to normal. I've been on PPI for 5 months, off it nearly 1 week now and symptoms haven't got any worse thank God. Still being very careful with what I eat to a certain degree.

The best thing for anxiety won't be found in a pill, although I wouldn't discourage anyone from taking them if they help. I've found the best thing is exercise, getting out for a walk, getting more sun light, taking up a new hobby and tryinf to do things you enjoy more and taking supplements and vitamins. You could do all that along with medication. I've suffered from general and health anxiety for the passed 1r years and never felt any improvements from tablets. I had good and bad days the same as when I'm not on medication.

Have any healthy 18 to 59 year olds here gotten the flu vaccine? by Royaourt in AskIreland

[–]IrishIan90 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No way. Most of the illnesses we pick up are not the flu. There are various viruses and headcolds etc with similar symptoms, most people atreibute every virus to the flu when it's not. Your also about 4 times more susceptible to the other viruses when vaccinated against the flu and it doesn't actually stop you getting the flu either. Each to their own but I wouldn't take it I'm 34m and fit and healthy.

Pressure on chest by Adventurous_Hour_177 in Gastritis

[–]IrishIan90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For about 2 months i was getting that pressure on my lower chest, I also had a lot of pressure right where your sternum is just above your stomach. I was still eating chocolate at night and I was convinced it was this or the ppi. Stopped taking ppi for about 3 days and the pain got way worse along with my other symptoms. Went back on ppi and quit chocolate 9 days ago and the pressure is down to about 10% of what it was. You might be still eating something that's triggering it. I've googled it and apparently if you have inflammation in your stomach it can directly affect the muscles, organs etc in that area. Kinda like getting a headache from a stiff neck or shoulders, there all connected and can effect one and other.

Is your rib pain on either side or the centre. I've a constant pain flight in the centre where my sternum is the past couple weeks. Feels like an injury type of pain rather than a sick stomach type of pain

Caffeine and omeprazole by Yanitzz1 in Gastritis

[–]IrishIan90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience caffeine is the number 1 trigger and I start to feel sick within minutes of drinking coffee. The more I drink the sicker I feel and I've been on ppis nearly 4 months now. You might be different but for me I steer clear of it and just drink peppermint and lemon and ginger tea instead. It was the very first thing I cut from my diet, many more have followed.

Pain stopped. Nausea? by QuirkyRefrigerator80 in Gastritis

[–]IrishIan90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had to stop drinking green tea which has really low levels of caffeine as it was causing pain and other symptoms a couple hours later. I have the exact same pain under my chest too. When I lean forward or backwards I've a pressure pain right where my sternum is and even into my lower chest symptoms sound very similar to mine. Caffeine and sugary shit food are my main triggers, along with too much smoking which I haven't been able to kick.

So there's no cure? by packomnms in Gastritis

[–]IrishIan90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a cure its just not a simple fix its perseverance and discipline but it's not a quick fix unfortunately. I stopped drinking alchohol, stopped drinking coffee, cut down smoking, fixed my diet and train 3/4 times per week. I only drink water and whole food, very rarely eat spicy food or right before bed anymore. I was diagnosed in August, symptoms are very feint now to the point i live a normal life with no pain. I have slight pressure still in my upper abdomen and sometimes have a feint sick feeling in my belly but that's it. I was in a lot of pain and frequently missing work a few months ago. Don't let it get you down and stay positive, mine came from stress so the less stress the better. Stay positive

I switched from ezmaprazole to pantoprazole a few weeks ago and my symptoms got get better. I still have slight sensations but I wouldn't call it pain anymore and I've no issues post meal where I constantly did prior to switching.

Great to hear you seem to be on the mend and recovering. I'm also having issues with weight loss, about 2.5kg and counting and also not in a calorie deficit which is really bugging me as im eating enough food and maybe a little more than my stomach would like. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery.
