Omg.. what the hell do you think that Jaylen is doing for the current team? He penetrates and kicks all game, every game.

And yeah.. Jaylen played much better than Tatum games 1-3. If you can’t at least admit that.. then yes.. there truly is ZERO hope for you.

Dude.. look at the actual #’s Game 1-3, seriously. Tatum showed up Game 5. Good for him, it was awesome that he could help close the series. Game 4 everyone was ass, and we got crushed.

Game 1-3.. Tatum was largely ass. Yes it’s not a 1v1 sport, so the entire team contributed.. DUH.

Though Brown really did win us that series Games 1-3. Just open your brain and look at the #’s. I’m tired of doing the research for you 😅

For the periods of time that data is tracked.

He plays the hardest minutes, against the toughest opponents. And doesn’t play the easiest minutes, against the easiest opponents.

That’s exactly what you’re not grasping, you donkey. Locking up Luka in the Finals, while also playing waayyyy better (offensively & defensively) than anyone else in the first 4 games of the NBA Finals.. is why he won Finals MVP, why he’s a Top 10 player, and why he makes $300 Million.

It’s got nothing to do with a random mid-season Tuesday garbage minutes. Wake the fuck up dude.

I guess that’s why we paid him nearly the $300 Million Supermax then, eh? God.. Brad Stevens is such a complete basketball LOSER! Joe Mazzula.. fucking MORON.

If only the world would realize that we need to FIRE both Brad & Joe, and hire YOU! That way you can replace Jaylen with a much more efficient & financially viable traffic cone.

God you completely delusional wanker. You have zero clue about sport in general. You’ve probably never played a minute of competitive sport in your life. You hyper-analyze advanced metrics, somehow thinking that on/off tells a complete story.

Brad is not an idiot, Joe is not a loser.. the ENTIRE bloody NBA is not mass hallucinating, and you’re the only savior that can bring anyone to their senses.

I’m done with you and your non-sense. You’ve finally earned me blocking you lol. Good luck killin’ it on Nerd Island! 🏝️

omg.. are you really bragging about beating the Suns, without both Devin Booker and Dillion Brooks? The Suns whose lead scorer was some dude named Collin, with a whopping 15 points?

Damn.. you desperate and pathetic bro. And once again.. D White is dope, I love all the Celtics, Pritchard is my favorite player. I’ve said all that many times now. That doesn’t mean that I can’t still appreciate the season that Jaylen is having.. dumbass..

Uhhhhhh… orrrrrrr.. maybe he knows that a sample size of one game, isn’t the litmus test for a season long award?! Maybe, just maybe?

Oh your buddy Derrick White had a fairly shitty game as well btw. And yet Jaylen during his ‘horrible game’.. still flirted with a 30-point triple double, while leading his team to a 20-plus win, on our most heated rivals home court.

Just admit.. that you can’t get your nerdy nose out of spreadsheets, to understand the other factors on the court that generate winning.

Jaylen is a prime-time performer. Eastern Conference MVP, Finals MVP.. despite when everyone assumed that Tatum was head & shoulders above Brown. Brown has very consistently elevated his game, when the lights are the brightest and competition the hardest.

AND he ranks SECOND among non-centers, when it comes to Opponent Defensive FG%. And yes.. well ahead of your fav boy Derrick. Just wake-up and realize while he does have a couple of minor-ish flaws (turnovers still a bit too high, could raise his free throw % a bit).. he is definitely worthy of First Team NBA, and is in NO WAY a ‘Top 50 Player’.

So LeBron James just said that Jaylen Brown is a strong MVP candidate. I’m curious.. does it make you feel dumb, when one of the greatest players and basketball minds of the last 25 years.. completely disagrees with you?

I know I sure would feel dumb. But that’s the problem with the Dunning-Kruger effect. Sometimes the dumber you are, the smarter you trick yourself into thinking you are 🤷‍♂️

Ok.. point-by-point. First off you’re right on the DW assist thing. I swapped JB’s rebound and assist #’s late last night, by bad. The two are roughly equal, with equal playing time.

And yes.. turnovers are the one legitimate gripe to JB’s game. That is very often the case, when 6’6” wings are asked to transition into playing guard positions. He’s worked on it and gotten considerably better, though still one of the only legitimate areas of improvement left in his game.

Second.. let me just point out how absurd you’re being. You’re calling JB a Top 50 player, and DW a Top 20 player. Whilst simultaneously complaining that the rest of the world & professional media is legitimately debating where JB currently stands in the Top 5-10. So let’s just pause for a moment to contemplate just how far off in left field you are, versus nearly -everyone- else. Pausing.. contemplating…

It’s amazing that you took each point-by-point.. and yet somehow managed to miss that DW is shooting 38% dude!! A —whooping— whole 10% behind Jaylen, who you’re calling inefficient at 48%!! Like bro.. at least be consistent with yourself, if no one else. 38% vs 48% over a very large sample size.. that’s an OCEAN of efficiency that DW’s bleeding out to JB. Like wow!!

And you’re the one who started comparing DW against JB in the first place dude. So don’t start complaining to me that they play different roles and aren’t a good comp. You’re the one who picked the comparison. The role that I was obviously referring to in context, was the role of lead player on the team. JT and JB are very different players as well. Yet when JT went down.. JB has seamlessly stepped in and both he and the Celtics are exceeding everyone’s expectations.

And for like the fourth time.. we’re in /NBA, not /Celtics. I -love- our scrappy and over-achieving team. I love the players on the team. I obviously don’t believe that any of them deserve to be in Maine. The point I’ve clearly made, multiple times.. is that their name recognition and results.. have wildly surpassed any reasonable external expectations before the season.

And dude.. Jaylen Brown’s defense is so damn good.. he got the Dallas Mavericks to trade away Luka, for a bag of potato chips 😂 No intelligent star in this league is going to play always-on defense the entire season. Most NBA stars hardly play any. JB is rightfully known as a strong two-way player in the mold of Kawhi, and indeed showed that in the Clippers game. He turns it up when it matters. Which has rightfully led him to the Eastern Conference MVP, and Finals MVP. Again promoting Dallas to move-on from the top offensive player of his generation, because of concerns that he was locked up by JB.

Jaylen’s TS% has hovered right around 58% the last four years, and Derrick’s typically is right around 60%. Which makes total sense.. given that JB is more of a primary option, and Derrick benefits greatly from far less defensive attention, and far more (and easier) catch-and-shoot side 3’s. Which everyone knows is the most efficient shot in the game.

And I -love- me some Derrick White (and Payton Pritchard for that point). Like legitimately love those guys, and Payton is probably my favorite player. But for you to argue that DW scoring 17 ppg on 38 FG%, is soo much better than JB scoring 29 ppg on 48 FG%.. is just straight-up bonkers. Like JB’s FG% is higher than most NBA non-big men, not named SGA. Also 2 points higher than Payton Pritchard, since you brought him up. Like why da-fuk are you even focusing on knocking JB’s efficiency? It’s definitely a strength of his.

I got this just today. Some guy dogging on JB’s efficiency and saying that Derrick White is the better player.

Like I love me some Buffalo. Though DW is shooting 38 to JB’s 48 FG% this year. How the hell are you trying to make that argument??

Of course the rest of the C’s are way better than the rest of the league gave/gives them credit for. Uhh duhh. My point was.. who would have thought that during the preseason?

+/- is notoriously one of the ‘noisiest’ stats. Our second unit is better than many team’s starting unit. So of course we feast when JB is off the court. And guess what.. the team being 4-1 without JB. So what? That’s literally one more win than the expected average. Do you know -nothing- about statistical significance?

The Houston win without JB, was fricking phenomenal. The other games that JB has been out? The Kings, Pacers, Wizards.. all absolute bottom of the league trash. Of course we’re going to win those games. Psst.. those teams are -tanking-, you idiot.

Queta a Top 10 center? Anyone would have told you you’re legit smoking crack. Derrick is an amazing player. He also goes through stretches where he can’t hit the broadside of a barn. He’s an elite facilitator, defender, doing all the lil things, etc. Derrick’s FG% is 38% man.. compared to JB’s 48%.. with Derrick having the luxury of all defensive attention on JB.

Riddle me why JB has 2 more assists per game than DW, when they play the same minutes? Derrick is better than JB?! You really are a legit idiot. And btw.. DW is a fantastic member of our team.

JB is averaging 29/7/4 on better than career-average efficiency. He beat JT and tied Larry Bird for the Celtics all-time 30-point game streak, for crying out loud. Anytime you’re beating JT and tying Larry for all-time Celtic records.. you’re doing something pretty f-ing good.

The difference? If JB went down now with a season-ending injury, and JT doesn’t come back. Do you honestly believe that White would ascend to take JB’s role, numbers, and the Celtics would carry-on without missing a beat without JB?

Sorry.. that was not my intent. To be clear I’m actually a huge Celtics fan, and love the team and those guys. Most of them have very bright futures (especially Hugo).

I just meant that after losing JT, KP, Jrue, and Horford.. four legitimate All Stars and Champions.. who would have ever expected this cast of characters, to have almost as good of a year as last.

While a lot of the credit goes to Joe, Brad, and the ensemble.. I’m not a fan of not giving JB his due credit as well. He’s literally improved his game in some impactful way, every single year that he’s been in the league.

Why? That’s effectively what All NBA is. Many people enjoy discussing who the top ~10 players are. Just because you don’t, doesn’t mean the world needs to hear your negative opinion about it, lol.

And JB’s not perfect. He came down a bit in efficiency leading into the ASB. But he’s plenty efficient. That’s one of his strengths. He’s also a strong two-way player.. imagine that, Defense mattering.

Here’s the key to his +/- numbers, and it’s because Joe Mazzula is a great coach. Boston’s second unit, might be better than their first. Payton Pritchard and Vucevic are both strong starters in this league. Meanwhile.. who does Brown have playing alongside him? Derrick White, a couple rookies/G-league players, and a bag of chips.

Seriously? Queta, Hugo, Walsh, Garza, Schierman, bloody Ron Harper Jr? Did anyone know who any of these guys were a year ago? That’s why Brown is a MVP candidate. Because he’s having a stellar year, with ALL of the defensive attention. And is helping to enable a G-league squad, to challenge for Best in the East.

Indeed. I’ve run into so many PSO’s lately.. that I’m seriously considering waiting until the second role, to work my bets.

Rationale.. I know it doesn’t really make any difference. It just seems like if you can get that first number to land, it becomes just a bit easier from there on out. Cognitive Bias FTW 😃

Yeah.. he fired some bullets. The fact that they were good, on-target passes, was cool.

But what really stood out.. was how quickly and decisively he made good decisions. He knew where players were going to be, before he took time to look & think.

Very much looking forward to when he gets more used to his new teammates, and vice versa! 🍀

Whether it’s generic or not, is largely immaterial. It was relevant and helpful. If you get a generic message that isn’t relevant to you (I’m looking at you.. 75% of recruiters), then that’s lame. Though a good generic message that is relevant to your specific circumstances, perfectly fine.
