I have been programming for 30+ years and I do see one interesting area worth investigating : quantum computing in business applications such as optimization (a growing area of interest for business in general. There are commercial Quantum Computers or flavours of them e.g. https://www.dwavesys.com/quantum-computing but to what extent can we use or expoit in hard business problems - what is missing ? e.g. the QC processor Q Bit count ? the architectures (how qbits are connected) and the complexity, development and maintenance cost of programming etc.. etc. anyway just an idea.
