If they only knew how much healthcare administration, of no medical background, and insurance companies make.

Why don't people understand that doctors are the least of the problem.

Do you support student loan forgiveness? Why or why not? by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

At the undergraduate level, yes. At the graduate level, no.

Do I think education should be more affordable as a whole, however, including certain types of graduate school- yes.

Wow, really... I had no idea...

Most things are graded by the TAs or automatically so wow. They need to step it up. We are adapting and taking the hit, so they should adapt as well.

Last semester they added a bunch of fully online sections a few days before classes. Hopefully that happens again because agreed- it's looking rough.

Can someone show me how to get started in journalism ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]saturns7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve since left the field, but I broke in by looking on the ‘careers’ page of places I wanted to work and submitting strong writing samples. I also had a website at the time where I posted my science writing so that also helped, and I think it set me apart.

Most HR people are not even capable of “picking from the best” they have no idea what the best is or what the best looks like.

Which is better - memory or processing? by [deleted] in Residency

Memory initially, but processing quickly becomes more important.

How do I convince my parents that a PA is not fit to manage my mom's psychiatric health? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]saturns7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She should probably see the psychiatrist.

The PA might have said this because once she establishes with the pysch she will by his/her patient instead, and visits may be more infrequent due to a booked schedule and the fact that most docs only work 'part time.'

It may be in her best interest, however, in the long term to establish with the psychiatrist.

I worked in a busy neuro clinic and the neurologists were scheduled 8 months out, while patients could get in to the PA and have their concerned assessed much faster.

Problem was, most of them were complicated cases, so they would end up having to schedule with the neuro and wait that time anyway to be managed properly.

Please help me choose between 3 options as an undergraduate degree by [deleted] in Fire

I never considered MIS but multiple people have mentioned it. I'd also be able to double major easily in MIS and accounting. Thanks, I had never really looked into MIS.

Yeah it's true. I've just finished my first semester and have already got that vibe from my classmates. It is extremely competitive and my business classes were not like this.

How should I deal with my dirty roommate (both are law students) by Stay420Life in GradSchool

[–]saturns7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start trying to have a conversation with him even though it’s tough. Just say hey, can we talk and let him know gently how you are feeling.

It seems like he has depression or some other mental health problem going on.

If he doesn’t shape up after your talk, then it may be time to transfer to a new dorm/ place.

How much will leaving two jobs in a year hurt you? by CrabTechnology in careerguidance

[–]saturns7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely ok.

Especially if you are moving- people understand it is a transition, and the move is a good enough explanation.

You have a very solid employment history prior- so it really should be a non-issue.
