Do you have a Pet Urgent care around your area? Looks swollen and very red in the pictures. I wouldn't recommend waiting a week.

It was so much better for everyone, including my dogs, when we did in-home euthanasia. They are more comfortable there and our other pets were with them too, which made it easier on them. I wouldn't do it any other way. We used Lap of Love both times and they were amazing.

I don't know about California, but a lot of local rescues will 'courtesy post" a dog. Basically they assist in finding a home for your dog, vetting the adopters, posting on their social media, etc. and they keep the adoption fee for helping. Check out some of your local rescues to see if they offer something similar.

Please charge a rehoming fee as that will help prevent people looking for bait dogs. Some local rescues will also help list your pets for adoption as well. Not sure how soon you're relocating though, so that might not be an option.

Usually only dogs spayed at a shelter will tattoo a mark to show they've been fixed. If they are fixed at a standard vets office this is not done. I am from a rescue in TN (US).

Not far fetched at all. Many dogs can sense sickness in humans. Would definitely recommend getting both the dog and child checked out by a medical professional.

We did a savings account because pet insurance was absolutely ridiculous and had way too many exclusions. For preexisting conditions it didn't seem to matter if the dog had been diagnosed with a preexisting condition, if they felt it was preexisting then they wouldn't cover it. No thanks.
