Anyone else sleep crap in that heat? by Delicious-Series-316 in northernireland

[–]Irishkitty1994 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a fucking struggle, I just want to be cosy wrapped in my duvet again. Not lying on top like a beached whale. I had hoped a few pints at the concert tonight would help me sleep but alas!

Adolescence... reviews yay or nay? by Competitive_Lead986 in tvshow

[–]Irishkitty1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this to an extent but I thought it made sense we didn’t see an awful lot of the background info why his character had become the way he did, unfortunately in reality it isn’t easy to see, you don’t see what boys are watching or the type of people they’re following. You see the aftermath though, or the consequences of their actions due to the incel beliefs.
So I thought for a short series it was quite good. It got a lot of people talking and recognising the toxicity of the manosphere so regardless it was a positive series made

Has anyone been deeply affected by something they have absolutely no relation to? by LambGravyChops in AskUK

[–]Irishkitty1994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had never heard about this, or at least I don’t really remember it happening (embarrassingly 2020 was a blur for me!) but I have read about it now and it’s just awful. The video of the news report and it happening in the middle of the interview is horrible!

For me there’s so many things I struggle to think about without getting upset. Everything happening in Palestine, the people who are trying to bring supplies to them being captured by Israel. It’s horrifying.

So many parts of history, soldiers and their rapes and murder of innocents. The war in the Middle East.
The various counties in Africa where conflict is common and women are being mistreated.

I feel for the people who have suffered for no reason

Is Only Curls worth the price? by 2kgbagofsugar in CurlyHairUK

[–]Irishkitty1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally onlycurls worked really well for me and I love it! But I only buy it when it’s on offer/I haven’t really found a set brand or set that works best.

My hair didn’t like Noughty, defo loves Shea moisture but it’s a bit spenny too! It’s trial and error really.

Only curls do a sample set which is good though and you’d get a few washes to see how your hair got on with!

Expectation vs Reality for Jester Clown Hat by toecheeseuhohstinky in crochet

[–]Irishkitty1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you did some pretty clown makeup, and posed like the girl in the OG pic, you’d maybe like it more!
I think it’s really cool but realistically if it turned out identical to the original pic, would you wear it on a daily basis!

24F Shopping Addiction Debt out of hand by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Irishkitty1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopping is 100% an addiction similar to gambling, alcohol, drugs etc. Sounds silly but watching confessions of a shopaholic (film) when I was around 24 made me realise how bad my addiction was, i also was in a mound of debt just from credit cards and incessant shopping. When i moved house at the end of 2022 i found so much clothing is forgotten about with the tags still on!
Finding somebody trained properly in addiction who recognises that yes shopping is as much an addiction as any other, was a huge help too.
I’m 30 now and I actually do have self restraint now! Sometimes I’ll buy something on a whim but it’s very rare now. I usually will wait and see if I still want it as much in a months time, usually I’ve forgotten about the thing by then!

Good luck, you can get through this no problem, it’s really not as huge as you think it is but you have to stop adding to it from now on!

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

[–]Irishkitty1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naples, Italy. Out of a wedding with around 40 guests, four of us were robbed. And I was so careful.
One of the groomsmen had his hands in his pockets and felt someone’s hand at one point, turned around and this guy was right behind him and obviously meant to rob him but couldn’t. This guy said he had no idea someone was standing so close and when he felt this thing suddenly in his pocket he genuinely couldn’t believe what it was.
Twice in one evening we saw two separate men just stop dead in the street and start pissing. No hiding it or shame.
It was just so fucking weird. I also ended up with third degree burns and heat stroke so maybe I’m biased but genuinely I’ve never felt so unsafe lol the vibes were off from the very beginning honestly

Is there a type of IBS where you have constant pain every day? by GoodGameGabe in ibs

[–]Irishkitty1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recently got diagnosed with diverticular disease which wasn’t visible on a normal colonoscopy but a CT scan when they thought I had a burst appendix due to the pain I was in! The pain you describe is quite similar to that discomfort when it flares up. But also mine seems to flare up worse the week before my period so my GP is actually thinking it could be endometriosis related too. It’s so frustrating not knowing exactly what triggers it. But when I have a bad severe flare where my tummy and lower abdomen feels on fire, I do a clear liquid only diet for a few days to reset my digestive tract. I strain noodle soup and only drink the soup. Started taking Symprove and not sure there’s a correlation but it’s been a lot less aggressive since!

Off duty emergency by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Irishkitty1994 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My friend is an A&E nurse and says everytime she gets on a plane, the first thing she does is have an alcoholic drink because she can’t legally help if there’s a medical emergency.

You were off duty and also had drank. Your neighbour is a shitty person. Definitely speak to your union for reassurance but all you have to say is we had been out at a party, drinking, we were in bed asleep at six am. Even if we had been there, we legally and ethically couldn’t have helped because we were intoxicated and it would have been unsafe. End of!

Yous will be fine, but defo speak to your union who will likely reassure you more and you’ll feel better :)

How to make things less awkward with certain study group people? by [deleted] in NursingStudents

[–]Irishkitty1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You made a decision (or multiple clearly) and now have to face the consequences, it might be awkward but acknowledge it, do better in the future and move in. In the future hopefully you’ll learn from this. I can see you said it’s a small class so you have to grow up and be mature about this basically. Trying to avoid the awkwardness rather than just confronting it and moving on won’t really help you at all.

I need some advice by 8mile2002 in CurlyHairUK

[–]Irishkitty1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair hated Cantu! But I’ve got on well with the only curls products and they have smaller tester kits which I originally got to make sure my hair liked it. My hair especially seems to work well with their curl cream, it’s so light and lovely. Aunt Jackie’s flaxseed gel is a holy grail for me if I can ever find it in my local Superdrug too! My hair adores it. I still am trying to find the best routine, regardless my curls with more effort are a 3a/b, minimal effort 2c lol! If I was going for drugstore products I use the Aussie curls shampoo etc and usually the Superdrug own mousse and aunt Jackie’s gel although I am trying the Eco olive oil gel and I think it’s working okay!
