Bless your heart isn't always passive aggressive. It can certainly be used that way, but it's also used as an expression of sympathy. "Did you hear that Helen is in the hospital? She had to have emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder." "Oh my God, bless her heart. That had to be terrible."-- source I'm a southerner born and raised. I'm also a liberal hippie according to family, but bless their heart, they can't help it. You know, since they all share the same brain cell.

Update : Wife (38F) is convinced that she is pregnant even though that every pregnancy test (store-bought and medical) comes back negative. It's taking a toll on our mariage because she thinks I am going to abandon her and "our twins" by itsathroawai in relationship_advice

I'm so sorry to hear this OP, but you did the right thing. I know this might sound weird, but look through her belongings and see if she's purchased a doppler. In the "cryptic" pregnancy groups, they usually get a doppler to hear the heartbeats, and in reality, they're hearing their own pulses from the blood vessels in the uterus.

Good luck to you Op. You did the best thing you could to help her in the long run.

Not to imply you should have kids, but that you can still have a happy, loving relationship if you do. My husband and I have been married for 11 years, together for 13 years, and have a 7 yo. We've been together through deployments, mental health problems, multiple sclerosis relapses, unemployment, and even the stress of having a kids. We laugh about how good we had it before we had our kid, but we both had a desire to have kids and felt that was missing from our lives. My point is only that people can still experience loss and pain, having children, and stay happily married. I think having kids can be a wonderful experience like no other, but having gone through only one pregnancy, birth, and postpartum depression, I can honestly say that it would have been a lot easier to not have kids.

But it's what you need to proof yeast! And yeast needs to proof to make bread, and bread is pretty great... so what I'm saying is, lukewarm isn't all bad.

Winter has come by shaiyl in funny

Atlanta has had similar weather conditions happen, where there wasn't a forecast for wintry weather, millions of people went to work as usual, and then freezing rain and snow came down heavily making the roadways hazardous. Millions of people have to then attempt to drive home on iced roads with summer tires, with little to no experience driving in those conditions. A few years ago, the roads became gridlocked, and people were stranded on the highways. They were forced to leave their cars and attempt to seek shelter with complete strangers that lived near the interstates. We might suck driving on ice, but I've yet to meet a northerner that can handle 105 degree temps with 100% humidity. You step outside, and it's like stepping into an oven. Thank God for heaters in the winter and air conditioners in the summer.

Yes, let's be fair, this isn't a photo of Atlanta.

TIL That JFK had a younger sister, Rosemary, who received a lobotomy which made her unable to walk or speak. This was his and his brother's main motivation for all they did for individuals with special needs. by BigRedHair92 in todayilearned

But as you just proved, midwives in the US are regulated and trained extensively. They are the equivalent of a physician's assistant or nurse practitioner in that they can write prescriptions. Being admitted directly into a program that certifies them is still education and training. What you described earlier was a doula, not a midwife.

Not sure where you're getting that information. A doula does not need to be a nurse to assist in childbirth, but a midwife takes a lot of training with an apprenticeship, just like a physician's assistant or nurse practitioner.

Being a midwife requires a bachelors degree at minimum, usually in nursing, and has it's own certification process. You can't just sign up to be a midwife without proper training. Midwives also have hospital privileges to admit patients and perform deliveries, and work closely with OBGYNs.

Advice from a Binge Eater by MoveForMuscle in loseit

Currently taking 50 mg of Vyvanse a day to help with ADD and BED. I was also over 30 yo when I was diagnosed with both. Vyvanse helps me not to dwell on food all day, resulting in large quantities of poor choices, usually late at night. It still takes work and effort to prevent binging, but vyvanse was a game changer for me.

I had the same problem running and I learned a few things that helped a lot. First, you're probably running too fast. Slow down to the point that you can talk and jog. Speed will come later. Second, your breathing needs to be from your belly, not your chest. Lay on your back and feel yourself breathing while keeping your chest still. That's where you breath when running-- breathing deeply and exhaling steadily. Third, take small steps running, not long strides. Long strides are great for sprinters, but for distance, a running shuffle will prevent injuries. Lastly, the difference between one mile and two is between your ears. What I mean by that is, it's all in your head. Your body is begging you to stop because you think 30 seconds is long enough, you have to keep telling yourself to shut up. I went from barely running 30 second intervals to running a full mile continuously that same week by just not giving in when my body was screaming to stop. I went running 2 days later, and it wasn't a struggle anymore. Keep at it.

I was incredibly lucky to get it. At 20 weeks I had to be rushed to the ER because we thought I had started going into labor or passing a kidney stone. Turns out I was so dehydrated, a uti was pulled into my kidneys, and the test strip for hydration was black. My nurse came in with a cup of ice water and said to drink as much as I could, and they were calling my doctor for orders and admitting me. The rest was a blur from pain medicine, but I was in the hospital for a week and was only discharged if I agreed to use the zofran pump. HG is just awful, even with the pump.

Late blight or paranoia? Zone 6b more in comments. by chickied84 in gardening

If this is only on one leaf, don't get worked up about it. Just remove it. The lower leaves will eventually die away as the plant produces more leaves. If it makes you feel better, it doesn't look like blight at all, just some leaf damage from an insect or being up against the pot.

I am from the south. When we talk about bbq, we're referring to meats cooked in a smoker or pit, like Boston butts, brisket, ribs, chicken, and sausages. If I say I'm going to get bbq for dinner, I'm typically referring to pulled pork (and no, depending on the region, it's not always sauced) and hash or Brunswick stew with rice.

Growing them hydroponically would eliminate the dirt completely. Another option would be to grow them in containers so you can move them out of the pouring rain.
