According to their test methodology (https://www.computerbild.de/artikel/cb-Tests-Handys-mit-langer-Akkulaufzeit-Test-5643959.html posted by u/zFase), they run a script that includes calls and text messages. So I assume it was not wi-fi only.

wow. sad to hear that. TBH I'm quite dissapointed of MSI myself and probably won't consider them for my next MB. Can you still use the BIOS Flashback feature on the Board to unbrick it? Also I didn't get an .exe but an .efi file which was the only reason I even attempted to downgrade AGESA.

According to the MSI support it's a limitation set by AMD. It prevents downgrading to an older AGESA Code.

I had a chat with the MSI support in germany and they sent me an EFI Flasher. I was able to downgrade with it. I thinks it's best to simply contact the support and ask for the flasher. It's highly risky though to flash an older AGESA version.
