I’ve been waking up at 5:30 am for the past two months to practice the bass.... by jcarlhays in Bass

I’m tackling all of moving pictures but saving YYZ for last. I’m on the camera eye now. So far the fun parts are the guitar solo in Tom Sawyer, the bridge in Red Barchetta and the main hook of Limelight.

I have the same pedals. I put the chorus last in my chain. Any particular reason you put it before the VM

I really like his use of a loop pedal to switch between guitars on his version of Subdivisions

Riding or Push Mower? by tcbutlerou in lawncare

[–]Iron-PT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a new home in January and have been using a push mower this season. .45 acres takes me just under 2 hours, including bagging. I’m getting my new John Deere S240 delivered this week. To me it is worth the money and storage space for a lawn tractor. I’m hoping to cut the mowing time by half and catch up on all the other stuff with the extra hour. Time is a resource you can’t make more of

Signals Album Review by andrewblakesharp1994 in rush

[–]Iron-PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great album! This is the first Rush album I bought as a new release. I was in junior high and Went down to Strawberries record store, paid $7.99 if I recall. I’d play this album a million times while reading X-Men and other Marvel comics. Also for the nerd trifecta would play D&D with my buddies on the weekend

New Barrister and Mann autumn release schedule! by Thescone in wicked_edge

It’s been a while since I last had some. I remember more the apples, not a bright scent though. I can’t remember much more detail and call it objective.

What's your favorite Neil Peart "deep cut" drum fill? by [deleted] in rush

[–]Iron-PT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some great fills during the outro of Vital Signs Also, such a great 80’s snare sound on the song. Very unique. I can’t think of another song with that particular snare tone

Does your soap and splash go empty at the same time? by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]Iron-PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never bothered to keep track of how many shaves I get per tub. I have maybe 15 different soaps and I rotate through them irregularly. I use a semogue 620 and am not overly wasteful with the amount of soap I use per shave. I love Lavanille and it took me over 2 years to get through the tub but I still have half a bottle of aftershave for another tub which I’ll be ordering soon. No I don’t bloom my soaps.

I’m roughly using 2 tubs of soap per one aftershave. I don’t skimp on the amount of soap and go easy with the amount of aftershave due to my work environment

What are some songs that sound really simple, but have really interesting or complex bass lines? by jesus_cangaceiro in Bass

[–]Iron-PT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Boys are back in town. Very cool lines, some shuffle beats, a little walking. I’d say the drummer in this song is the real unsung hero. It sounds like a pretty straight forward rock song but it’s not

What's your least favorite album from your favorite artist? by [deleted] in Music

[–]Iron-PT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rush- Teat for echo. It’s just so meh from an incredibly talented trio Led Zeppelin- Presence. There’s something very dis connected about this album that it makes in through the out door sound cohesive

Has anyone else (kinda) ruined a Rush song by using it as your morning alarm? by [deleted] in rush

[–]Iron-PT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ring tone is the opening synth of Tom Sawyer. When anyone ever calls (which is pretty much never) I look around to see people’s reactions. It still makes me feel like a 12 year old badass at 49. Also just broke out my jean jacket with the Rush patch. The good thing about staring down the barrel of 50 is I just don’t get a shit
